Basketball players are so dumb that even their opinion on their own profession is useless.

Durant probably has 10 people in his top 5.

I do think it’s interesting, that of peers and guys that had the unfortunate professional experience of having to face the basketball intimidation game that was Big Mike and Kobe ...

They almost ALL universally rank MJ best, then Kobe. That’s very interesting.

Just listen to the knuckle heads podcast. It’s not that they don’t think LeBron isn’t great, or all time great as a top 5-10 er but the flagrant omission and skipping over of Kobe is foul to them.

And having faced all three (and in some cases they only faced Floor 38-40 year old Jordan) they almost all consider Kobe second best after Jordan.

To be fair, the guy from Backpicks flat out says the RealGM Top 100 ranking is better than his if you're looking for a GOAT list. So if you cite that, here's their Top 20

2017 List
1. Michael Jordan
2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
3. Lebron James
4. Bill Russell
5. Tim Duncan
6. Wilt Chamberlain
7. Magic Johnson
8. Shaquille O'Neal
9. Hakeem Olajuwon
10. Larry Bird
11. Kobe Bryant
12. Kevin Garnett
13. Oscar Robertson
14. Karl Malone
15. Jerry West
16. Julius Erving
17. Dirk Nowitzki
18. David Robinson
19. Charles Barkley
20. Moses Malone

2 things that stand out in every top list I've seen...

1. LeBron,MJ and Kareem make up the top 3

2. Kobe outside the top 10

As long as you have these two things your list is gucci :applause:

Like Jimmy Jackson said players who played with or against Kobe say he's on the goat list or easily a top 10 And Kobe wasn't even liked that much so they're unbiased opinions. I think I'll take the words of the players over a bunch of scrubs on a forum

On a separate note, how can you be universally recognized as the 2nd best SG of all time (behind the GOAT of basketball) and simultaneously not be a top 10? player

Thats pretty easy. Centers ruled the first 35-40 years. Only 3 guards won MVP from 47 to 88 and 1 of them was 6'9'' Magic. Almost all the rings were won by teams led by bigs till the 80s.

Centers simply have the edge accomplishment wise so they have an outsized ppart of the usually accepted top 10.

When centers get 5 spots in the top 10 that doesnt leave 2 each for the other spots.

You can put Kobe in the top 10...I dont care about that. Im just saying the position argument isnt why. Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, and Hakeem are usually gonna take 5 of those spots and always take at least 4. Arent spots enough to go around for all the positions to get 2.

1. MJ
2.Kareem
3. Shaq
4. Hakeem
5. Russell
6. Wilt
7. Duncan
8. Magic
9. Bird
10. Kobe
11. Lebron

He's not top 10 but definitely top 20

He says that Gasol carried Kobe to his titles and that Gasol should have been the 2010 fmvp.

it'll be interesting to see how far the 2-times MVP Stephen Curry leads the Golden State Warriors, in comparison to Westbrook who won a MVP in the absence of Kevin Durant.

it should be the key to the Warriors franchise of keeping the younger DeAngelo Russell's muscle memory comfortable, forgoing the possible learning curve would be unwise
