My favorite is flautas. But not just any flautas, the one my gf makes with all the fixings. Guacamole, cotija cheese, lime soaked onions, chopped lettuce, tomatoes and cilantro with this soup like shit that she pours over it, I have no idea what it is. Plus she gets this dried spiced meat from her grandma that goes inside it. It's delicious. I also love cold salmon and dill sauce.

But nothing beats a rare cut of good steak. Nothing.

Homemade ones are the best for sure. My ex's mom used to make them just as you described but without onion. My gawd. One day she even packed leftovers in a container so i could take home.

anyway, the question is "greatest food ever made" - and unlike some of the commonly mentioned dishes in this thread like pastas or indian chicken, which are centered around sauces that require some patience/skill and several ingredients, a great fish dish is more about simplicity and quality of the ingredients.
