Mentor police department received a report of a possible school shooting threat in retaliation for the assault. The school has been closed.

The school supposedly has a zero tolerance policy. They probably would have tried to sweep this under the rug if not for the video footage.

Her parents said she was in a coma in icu before being released.

Not a hate crime, rumors say the one girl was dating the other girl’s brother and there was a break up. Typical HS shit, just that back then people squared up, they didn’t attack from behind like the cowardly students of today.

Girl has been released from the hospital.

I don't get the hate crime label .. hate crime just sounds dumb .. a violent attack is usually pretty hateful to begin with

According to the rumors, it wasn't a hate crime or a racist crime and had to deal with one of the girl's brother going out with one of them and some kind of breakup and family fight. The reason behind the attack doesn't matter, only the action itself which could be attempted murder depending on the court.
