I'll confess to not knowing what deepfake was. I thought it was just his face cgi'd on Jack's body but his expressions were all organic

can't believe anything you see anymore. here's an app that can do deepfakes easily, tho obviously not as good as the jim carrey one. https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/09/04/app_zao_deep_fake/

You can still tell that Jack was the base, his voice inflections still come through. That's only because we've seen the movie though. If it was new and unseen, wouldn't notice

Seriously, this is a GOAT movie, great acting, great story, great directing, great dialogue...the atmosphere is absolutely terrifying, being stuck all alone in a big ass haunted hotel with the father becoming mentally unstable. I love the ambiguous ending too. Was the hotel really haunted or was Jack Torrence just going insane. The scene where Shelley Duval catches some dude in a bear costume giving an old dude head kinda tells you that that hotel had paranormal activity. Great great movie, any of you younger guys who haven't seen it, you gotta watch it but first get stoned and watch it alone at night.
