I dunno about Muslim extremist. He isn't that. I went to an event where he spoke, what a great speaker.
But not standing did him in.

since a young age i've demonstrated to have a backbone.
meanwhile, you stay in line like a sheep.
A backbone against the country and the very reason your family emigrated here? The very reason millions emigrate here?
When you were a little scrub in school, what were you trying to prove by not standing for the pledge of allegiance?

Not a good look highwhey...you're parents left their homeland to provide you opportunities they didn't have in Mexico and you come off as an ungrateful punk.
I moved to Mexico because me and my family are doing well here, I also have the option of moving back to the States if we ever have the need too, I respect the US with all it's faults, no country is perfect. To not show respect for your family's new home is pretty low IMO.

Ah ok, I see where you're coming from. Catholics aren't that hardcore in regards to nation/states allegiance. Catholics believe we must respect our earthly leaders but we also must keep in mind that we are all brothers and God is above everything. If I have to choose between God or country, I'm siding with the Lord.

our church even had literature so i can give to my teacher explaining our believes lol.
yeah, we were taught to respect the goverment/authorities. so obviously "pay Ceaser what is his" - rough translation since i read the Bible in Spanish.

Yeah not standing up for the flag is not about disrespecting the USA, it's about putting God above everything in both the Muslim/Catholic perspective.

Your ancestors are also from Spain. As are mine. You’re the product of two cultures meeting through manifest destiny and mans desire to explore, and you landed in the greatest country on Earth as a result. And yet you’re an ungrateful sack of shit.
What you give credit to is nothing but middlemen or secondary agents. You have to go back to the true source of all those things.
It would be the equivalent of me looking at a painting, and praising the painting and not the painter.
That brings up a good question, Pat, lets think about this one.
Should we be more grateful to "America" or more grateful to Allah/God?
Who gave America her water?
Who gave America her land?
Who gave America her abundant natural resources?
Who gave America the virtues within its people?
Who gave America's citizens the breath they breathe every instant?
Who gave America the brains and intelligence?
Who protected America through thick and thin?
Who sustained America?
Who created America?
The Lord/Rabb God/Allah did.
Thus, who is truly deserving of thanks?
And how does one show those thanks?

again, that strong public education in cuba really worked out for you.
your people are welfare queens that get free passes to the US.
our people had their land stolen by the US.
BIG difference. it's no wonder cubans bend over for republicans, they get a free all expenses paid trip to America, the land that belonged to MY ANCESTORS.
strong education you got from the motherland patricio, did castro teach you history himself? it would explain A LOT.

What a podunk backwards fvcked up way of thinking.
You literally look like a fuccboi by not standing because the pledge clearly says "under God", not above him. Who's going to hire a fuccboi that is not doing the very thing that he claims his religion tells him to do? Exactly. Hence the reason why no one hired Abdul-Rauf.

Even if it's my opinion.XYZ can vary widely, if you want higher taxes then they shouldn't be able to fire you. If you hate blacks, then that's clearly against anti-discriminatory laws. Being against certain foreign policy shouldn't leave you homeless on the streets, there's a lot of overlap between personal and religious values in Abdul-Rauf's case.

egokiller, if you are serious and not trolling...
If America was "under God"---they'd be in submission to God and obeying God in all circumstances and recognizing that God's rules override man-made rules.
But the U.S. Constitution and the people ratifying the Amendments and Laws do not recognize that authority. Rather, they usurp it.

America is under God.
All men are sinful in nature, hence the reason why you are left with America in its present state. To think that by standing and saying the pledge of allegiance that you are somehow defying God or saying that a flag is above God is very elementary level and misinformed thinking.

Basically this.
No one wants to deal with a fanatical religious nut if they don't have to.
All the idiot had to do is stand there and be quiet for a minute and he'd have a successful career but instead has to relate it to religion and bulshit and make a fool of himself for no reason..

yea I feel bad about being young and getting played by the media. I always liked his style, but I never understood why dude wouldn't just stand for the ****ing anthem and tbh I don't even think the muslim part was a huge thing in the narrative, it was just him not standing, being defiant. They made it seem like, to me at least, he was being defiant and using religion as an excuse. It wasn't like now when he was A TERRORIST/extremist or w/e.

Honestly it's not bullshit. Alan was raised Jehovah's Witness. It's no coincidence that he's struggling to find out who he is, and his sister had a debilitating mental breakdown, after leaving that cult.
