Eh. JL doesn't count as a Batman movie, although he was the lead character. BvS is a co-lead between him and Superman. The reception of BvS is bad, to say the least. Audiences and fans are eager to remove the bad taste left behind that movie and JL (I love BvS though). Grabbing the male lead of the Twilight series who is a fantastic actor should make anyone excited. And it would be 9 years since the last release of a generally acclaimed Batman film. :pimp:

If I had to answer this question seriously...for me personally it would probably be because it brings me back to my childhood which was a good time that I like to go back to sometimes and remember. And growing up I was strictly into Batman comic books and collecting them. I even drew pictures from the comics a lot. Being a father, husband and doing day-to-day things like working a full time job, providing for mY family, doing things like regular maintenance on wife and I's car to save dollars here and there, taking my daughter to her picture day for 6th grade, etc...I like to DO things that take me back to that time that I don't want to totally let go of.

Other people go way further than that. Like there's reaction videos of the trailer people are uploading and full grown men that are 25-30 and giggling like 10 year old girls in excitement. That... I don't understand and probably never will.

What you don't do... Is give the wife & mother of your kids a high five on TV and say "bad marriage for life" after she hooks up with a guy 20 years younger. That's what you don't want to do. How Will Smith didn't get divorced immediately is beyond me.

Then... maybe 5-10 years down the road you bring back Juaquin Phoenix for a Batman/Joker movie that takes place in the 90s... cast a new Batman/Alfred for that one.

I would've been down for a good Batman Killer Croc movie, but Suicide Squad ruined that character.

Had a couple test screenings so far and the consensus seems to be that it’s REALLY good besides a messy third act. Attendees saying it could be fixed with editing though

Pattinson and Dano particularly are getting overwhelming praise, which isn’t a surprise is you’ve seen movies like There Will Be Blood and Good Time

It’s pretty much an emotional, character driven detective noir, which could atleast be a nice departure from how Nolan approached it
