That's extremely impressive for a rookie against an NBA level defense, preseason or not he's playing against competition much much stronger than that of the summer league or NCAA.

You hope that he doesn't get buried on the bench this season. Who is his competition as backup SG for Jaylen Brown?

I feel like carsen will be OK in the NBA. Surprised he slipped so far.

What's his problem? He's maybe more of a SG and he's a bit undersized (height wise, his wingspan is OK), and maybe he doesn't have 'potential', but dude is a solid skilled player. He's definitely a back up caliber player.

He can score and has big nuts. What more do you need to play in the NBA?

-SmakDon't mind Smoke, if Hayward doesn't average 15 this season he may slit his wrists so a performance like this makes him nervous.

Maybe because he's too small for his natural position (SG)? He will play in the NBA but will likely not see big minutes due to his size, especially in Boston because you wouldn't have him and Kemba on the court together defensively.

Size might be an issue but his shot is quick and wet. Could be a very good 6th man

Him and Marcus will probably run the 2nd unit. Both bringing up the ball. Unless Brad Wanamaker gets more playing time this season which I expect.

His only competition it seems would be Romeo Langford who seems to be unable to stay healthy.

He's very undersized, his ceiling would be someone like Lou Williams imo.

Flawed era. Just like how Booker got 70. If Booker got 70 in another era, it would have been much more newsworthy.

You can't crowd guys anymore. Can't get up on them and be physical. That's a huge factor in freeing O players up. This guy was just launching open 3s.

A bunch of players shoot open 3s and brick them.

What we will never know is what Mark Price would do if he ran a system like D'Antoni's. He was taking shots 5 feet behind the line early in the clock. A guard in 1985 wouldn't even think about taking at least half of the shots he hit in the third.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbNj3eKMREg dudes forgot about this.

Carsen is beefy and he's gonna get to the rim as well. I don't think his size is a problem as long as he passes the ball. Kemba's existence is a problem because they COULD play both at once, but I dunno why they would want to.

If his ceiling is Lou Will, that's pretty good. I don't think he's gonna be Steph Curry, but dude is a legit NBA player. Compared to late first early 2nd rounders on average, he's a steal, imo.

His jumper is kind of funky looking but his balance (even when he's kind of drifting, he seems really squared up) and release are really on point, and he seems to be able to get it off really fast. If he can work on breaking down the D and passing more than just pulling it whenever he can, he'll be even better.

Edit: he also gets really good lift. I guess the downside is someone could Bruce Bowen him because he takes high lift shots in traffic.

He's not even the C's best rookie. Tremont Waters had a great preseason and looks like a vet out there. Ainge nailed the draft this year.
