If the Pelicans bring him back this season they are the dumbest organization ever.

Sit him out the year.

Nah it’s a recoverable injury, he just needs to pull himself together after this. Even Kobe’s achillies injury wasn’t that bad until he injured again in 2015, and then he was done.
Two completely situations. Kobe had been in the league for what? 15+ years at the point of the first injury? All the mileage at that point had built up in Kobe's body and he was in his mid-30s.

Zion is literally not even 20 years old and what was the number one concern coming into the season about him? Major injury from his body not being able to handle his athleticism. And low and behold he hasn't even played an official NBA game yet to log his numbers, or be in a high pressure situation, or high adrenaline situation in a NBA game that meant something and he already has a torn meniscus. :(

Big blow to people's confidence about him.

Morant will Rookie of the Year. He's looked awesome in pre-season.

Injuries are not good for a player of his size, nothing to do but eat until he heals and he is already large.

Blake Griffin was done for season in his first year, and he was a complete beast in his second year. There are reasons to be optimistic, at least Zion showed that he was already a good player with infinite potential before the injury.

Remember, athletic guys who get hurt as rookies are busts. Blake Griffin? Ben Simmons? Never heard of them.

I thought he'd bust, wish I was wrong though..

You can't compare him to Simmons, Ben plays much smarter and is a different build.
Flake had to completely change his game and has still been injured every season..

Anyone that's actually played ball knows those extra kilos make a huge difference in this sport, especially on the knees

Hypothesis: These "injuries" are just part of a sinister plot to lower Zion's value so he can be traded to Lakers to give our Qing the help he desperately deserves!

Can TNT Flex out the Raptors Pelicans game for like Boston vs Philly?

madmax

well, can't say anyone should be surprised by this unfortunately...the guy moves freakishly and unnaturally for an athlete of his immense size. No joints or ligaments can support those kind of sudden movements from a fella of almost 300 lbs of weight

Well, right now it's only 8 weeks, but I agree with most of you, this doesn't bode well.

People who invested a significant chunk of their income on Pelicans season tickets are punching the air right now.

blake griffin is always hurt, and ben simmons is a mega bust lmao.

this is why the NBA has become a joke they only care about selling athleticism and have no regard for skill.

I also find your statement difficult to comprehend.

Simmons already looks like a great player to have on a team and he's worked hard on his jump shot this past off season, his one big weakness, and it looks like the work is going to pay off

What's so mega bust about him? He and his Sixers squad are a guaranteed playoff unit right now

tpols
10-21-2019, 07:29 PM
look at all the first overall picks in recent years...

Anthony Bennett - super bust people liked because of his zion like size
Andrew Wiggins - big bust people loved because of his vert and speed
KAT - legit, but soft. actually has some skill.
Ben Simmons - total bust who cant shoot a basketball outside 5 feet drafted purely on his athleticism
Markelle Fultz -
DeAndre Ayton - has some decent skill but is basically al jefferson

and now Zion whose like a rich mans anthony bennett. :facepalm

hes been a massive liability on his squad for a few years now.

Theyre literally a playoff team without him on all stars embiid and tobias alone in a brutally weak east sans kawhi and lebron.

and they have nice supporting players in horford and richardson.
