It's actually sad that the average 2K player on MYGM mode could have probably done a better job than Ainge.
I mean seriously, rewind a couple years back. When you have 2 young pieces at the peak of their value. A great coach and an absolute war chest of assets. And on top of all this you have SEVERAL big names requesting trades which means you can get them for a bargain...
Unfortunately even a bargain isn't enough for Ainge. It seems the Nets heist deluded him into thinking that he could get away with this again or it was the standard. Trading a nets pick and a starting player for Paul George? Nope too much. Jaylen Brown for Kawhi Leonard..? Too steep. Pelicans want Tatum for AD..? No way he is only a baby...! Starting player and a pick for Butler..? Nah. A capri sun and bag of goldfish crackers for Demarcus Cousins? Outrageous.
Now we look at the aftermath. As I predicted.. Kyrie left.. No AD(had no idea Horford would leave, but he did). Now after all those assets this is what you have left. Building a franchise around Kemba Walker, Enes Kanter, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart,and Jayson Tatum. And that's gonna be it.. You are now locked into an absolute flop of Jaylen Brown (actually worse than the Otto Porter deal). Only reason Kemba is there is because MJ wouldn't give him the max.. otherwise he wouldn't have signed there..
Boston fans.. nobody else is coming to save you. Your GM played dirty to get ahead and it got him no where in the long run. Did IT wrong. Lied to Baynes about wanting him there... assuring that he can set up shop with his family in Boston.. Ended up shipping him out to the worst organization in the league. Even AD's camp spoke out about how they wouldn't want any part of the Celtics. Giannis nor any big name is coming to your org.
And no Boston fans.. A Kyrie-less squad will not revitalize the locker room and propel them back to 2018 playoff status. Bucks, Sixers, and Nets now run the conference... Isn't that funny..? The team that you fleeced is way better off presently and will be in the future. Hell, the Pacers, and Raptors are probably better than you. If the Heat trade for CP3 THEY will be better than you. This the harsh reality that your guy Ainge set up for you.. Like how he treats his players he treats you with broken promises. Enjoy it.
