View Full Version : If Lebron couldn't win with AD, while Kobe won with Pau, what does that say?

AD is the best big man in the league right now. Top 5 player.
Forget about Pau. Let's use Shaq to be more fair.

Kobe won 3 in a row with Shaq.
What does it tell you if Lebron can't even win one with AD, the number 1 big man in the league today?

Umm, it would probably say he won the same thing in year 17 as Kobe......

Off the top of my head everyone who won a title with ____ also failed to win one unless it was a one and done so.....not much. Be more of a question if they were gonna play 4-5 years together at the top of their games but they arent even gonna play one with Lebron at the age he is.

Not that "___ won with ___ " really matters because it cant consider who other teams have or a million other factors but....thats another topic.

It says Lebron is a top 5 all time candidate, while Kobe is the consensus 12th greatest player of all time and was never in top 10 at any year.

How many series did Kobe win when he was 35 or older? LeBron will be 35 this post season.

Injuries caught up to Kobe, but he already had 5 rings by then. If lebron only has a few years left, then that's too bad, he doesnt have much time left to catch up to Kobe's legacy..

Multiple trips to Germany for illegal doping caught up to Kobe.

He has 2 rings, not 5.

Wade went to Germany as well for his knee issues and we all know Lebron is on roids.

The 4 seed, Chico.

What seed were the Nets? You know, the team that wanted to draft him but he told them no cause he had no interest in trying to build a contender. He wanted the easy route to play for a title. He knew he wasn't NBA ready and was glad to hand out towels his first 2 seasons.

Imagine thinking Kobe could force his way to the Lakers at age 17 on his own :lol

You do realize the Lakers didn't have Shaq at that point and Magic had retired so that "4 seed" wasn't going to be a contender unless that signing happened? But of course Kobe knew Shaq was signing in advance, right  .

Kobe impressed Jerry West and he made that move possible, the Nets could have drafted Kobe, heck, a bunch of other teams could have but they didn't. Of course teams who made poor draft choices won't admit to them and they'll blame it on the players they missed out on.

LeBron should be expected to win rings playing alongside Anthony Davis ... even at 34.

Especially if his fanboys truly believe the rhetoric they spew about him as a player. Don’t make excuses now.

He’s still one of the best in the league and just acquired the best big man, arguable best player in the league (both sides of the ball) and the 3rd best PER player ever.

That’s like 2013 34 year old Kobe, as good as he was, acquiring prime / peak ish Kevin Garnett to play with.

Yeah, he did. Why do you think their great starting center Divac was put up for trade to a team who needed a center? It was no secret that Shaq wanted to come to live and play in Cali. So you have Shaq, who's a free agent wantin to go to Cali and a team in Charlotte who would easily trade for Divac if they could.

All they had to do is make sure that no team before Charlotte's 13th pick would draft him. What better way for that to happen?? Is for Kobe's camp to put the memo out that "all teams not named the Lakers don't bother drafting him cause he won't sign with you" Told Calipari and the Nets that he'd play in Italy before signing with the Nets.

Like I said, wasn't NBA ready, but would have been the starting SG for Jersey. He wanted no part in trying to build a contender. He wanted the easy way.

Do you realize Fisher is a career 8pgg on 39% player.

This is the player people use to hype up Kobe's help. I realize he hit a few timely shots in his career but he only hit 39% of his shots on 8ppg production.

Imagine if he was ever on Bran's team, he wouldn't last a full season, dude would be in Bran orchestrated trade packages for Kawhi.

Bynum was a role player, a mostly injured one at that, averaged 7/5 for the B2B titles
Gasol was a 1x all-star who couldn't win his team a Playoff game in 3 series prior to joining Kobe, zero 30+ pt games past the 2nd round
Horry? :lol bro he was retired by then
Fisher - a career role player who was 34/35 years old and starting
Odom - a solid starter/6th man in the league but never made an all-star team, he was a 10/10 player in those title runs
Ariza was a nobody prior to the 2009 Playoff run and Artest was way past his prime when we signed him in 2009.

Kobe made 3 straight Finals (Bynum and Ariza injured in 2008) and won B2B titles with those guys :lol

:lol :lol

2008 Lakers didn't have Bynum and Kobe still beat the Spurs with Gasol struggling against Duncan

So name me the 3rd and 4th best player on the 2009 and 2010 Lakers squads. Lamar Odom and Ariza/Artest? :kobe:

Kobe won B2B titles with teams as bad as the 94 and 95 Rockets when you look at the overall talent. 95 Rockets are actually better because Clyde is miles ahead of Gasol.
