Don't know if its true but several people have mentioned it on other forums discussing Lakers vs Clippers game.

I wouldnt say that. Id say hes a guy who scores a lot on the kinds of chances you cant be sure will keep presenting themselves as the other team adjusts throughout the game. You see that Doc Rivers has to pay the whole team some money because he made a bet dependent on Davis not getting any spin out alley oops? If the D is well coached and attentive there are a lot of random plays he makes happen that wont keep happening as the game goes on.

He can score on his own but hes never had to do it as a primary means of attack because his hands, finishing, motor, and off the ball movement are so good. Plus he can shoot. He can get like 20ish just being on the floor with willing passers and make up the other 5-8 one on one drawing fouls.

Did anyone catch Barkley's comments on AD at halftime?

He said AD needs to fight for position lower in the post, so the Clippers would be forced to double and AD could potentially pass it out and make his team better. Said by just catching it so far out and running nothing but ISO he isn't helping the team.

They just mentioned a stat on ESPN claiming that Davis posted up 17 times last night which was a career high

what kblaze said

And it's interesting that he posted far more last night than ever before - NBA.com stats says 22 times, so his PPP down there probably wasn't that great - he apparently must learn how to be a go-to guy - learning to catch the ball in the "danger zone" like Barkley alluded to is key - that forces defensive adjustments

Looks like we might witness the maturation of AD into the go-to guy this year. Should be interesting to see if he can be the #1 guy that dominates the post, and then see how teammates play off that, or if they effectively can..

maybe AD can't get it done and the team has to rely on an older lebron and his approach to win.. either way, the Lakers will either evolve or devolve as the season goes on and which direction they go

AD's ppp on the post was actually #1 last night for anyone with more than 1 post up, and he had 22 post ups

0.909 ppp

Siakam was 2nd with 0.857 on 7 post-ups

If Kawhi played with AD, he could get 30 points in 5 minutes of hold time, while AD is posting up a ton and getting tons of touches

The Lakers will need someone to do this - they'll need someone to get 25-30 even with AD getting a lot of touches - I don't think Green can do it and Im not sure how optimal it is for Lebron to do it while holding the ball for 10 minutes like he did last night

Lakers have some figuring out to do
