If you actually watched the game you'd see that Kyrie is a cancer. He can't help but hijack the offence. Brooklyn will b worse this year with kyrie.

Ok y'all will see. Kyrie is an offence killer. Just like he was in Boston. The game comes naturally to some and not so much to others decision making wise. Kyrie is the most skilled player I've ever seen but he dosnt know how to lead a team. He dosnt know when to shoot and when to pass. Hes also a shitty defender. He's basically a small shooting gaurd. How many teams in the history of the game have won chips lead by a small shooting gaurd? The warriors in 15 is the only team that comes to mind and that was a huge asterisk

Maybe if he teamed up with two healthy superstars, he would've won tonight.

Yeah he was amazing tonight but I'm not talking specifically about tonight. I'm talking about his style of play. Yeah It worked out tonight because he was on. He'll play the same way all year but he'll be off more than he's on. Brooklyn will be worse with Kyrie. Book it.

Damn 50/8/7 with zero turnovers. What a monster game, didn't see that coming for Kyrie on opening night.

I was actually thinking earlier today to start on thread on first player to 50 points this season but Kyrie squashed that.

Worse? He's considerably better than D'lo on both ends of the floor and Harris, LeVert and Dinwiddie will be better as well. They got shooters to space the floor for Irving but that 2nd unit has to do a lot better.

You could of said the same thing about the Celtics when Kyrie first got there but they ended up being worse with Kyrie. It's not always as easy as adding a really good scorer to a team thats already good and they'll automatically get better. They have to be a good fit and I'm not sure Kyrie is a good fit.

I bet the Nets have a worse record than they did last year. When I saw the headline in the morning that Kyrie scored 50, my first thought was, "I bet they lost." and they did.

How can you put that all on Kyrie though? Celtics players maybe never embraced him and were mad that he took shots away from them but it's not like they werent a couple bad calls away from losing in the first round against the Bucks in 2018. Irving last year played more point guard that he ever had, averaging 6.9 assists per game and shooting less than he did the year prior but Tatum, Brown and Rozier all played worse which led to a mediocre Regular Season and a terrible 2nd round against the Bucks.

Can I really put it on Kyrie that they lost against the Bucks when Giannis was getting everything at will in 4 straight wins? I recall Horford, Brown and Tatum bricking wide open 3s that Irving kept setting up for them, is that his fault? Maybe those guys were a bad fit but it doesn't mean that Irving can't make his teammates better.

This Nets team is built for Kyrie's talents. They have great shooters around him and their chemistry is great right now in terms of communication, the starters looked great yesterday. Joe Harris might be the 3rd best 3PT shooter in the league and he'll get a lot of open looks with Irving out there on the court.

Barring injury, I don't see how they can do worse than 42 wins. A 4th year D'lo can lead the team to 42 wins but an improved roster with peak Kyrie won't at least do the same? Irving, Harris and Prince might all shoot above 40% from three and Harris is probably a top 5 shooter in the league, LeVert was hurt last season but he looked like a star against Philly in the Playoffs. There's no way this team is winning less than 42 games if healthy.
