Ive now had some time to process what we just saw this past taco Tuesday night, and here is my official takeaways:
-Lebron’s game is still silky smooth even in his 17th season, but it’s clear his groin is still healing. He’s not QUITE as dominant as we’re accustomed to seeing, strictly because of the injury.
-Anthony Davis is a good all around player but he doesnt really have any ways to dominate. The Lakers cant worry about trying to force feed him the rock, especially when theyve already got a stallion to ride in LeHung. AD needs to just worry about fitting in rather than fitting out, and work within the flow of the offense.
- The rest of the team really sucks. Nobody else is any good. Kuzma isnt gonna make that much of a difference. As usual LeMoses is gonna have to lead these vagabonds to the promised land singlehandedly.
- If the Lakers dont want Lebron’s other groin to exlode, they need to add another all star or two by the trade deadline. Lebron doesnt need the help, but he deserves it. So give it to him. I dont ****ing care how you get it done Pelinka, just GET IT DONE.
Discuss.

He definitely has a weak groin.
lakers chemistry was poor with a lot of sloppy turnovers, so they will get much better. plus they need kuzma back to eat the minutes of a scrub like kcp, and lebron and AD weren't that good. lebron played like shit missed layups and shot was off most of the game. AD was average too so they'll both be better and will develop chemistry to get easy baskets- when the season gets going they'll have one of the two on the court at all times which will be huge for them and is crucial in the west. having dwight AND mcgee to help AD will also be huge dwight looked good when he was on the court yesterday.
the clippers are going to be a nightmare though for poor laker fans. :oldlol:
PG is the real deal plus they have a ton of super competitive guys in harrell lou and beverly. I can see any of those guys going off in a playoff game to steal the game. we don't even have to mention that kawhi and PG on the perimeter will be a nightmare.
that was a sick game to watch. the best and second best teams in the league, the edge going to the clippers.

Other takeaways:
The Lakers need higher IQ players and playmakers alongside LeBron in the starting lineup and a sixth man scorer off the bench. They can't expect LeBron to bring the ball up for 36 minutes a game. Carmelo Anthony would be the perfect scorer they need off the bench.
Here is the Lakers best lineup.
PG: Rondo | Bradley
SG: Pope | Green
SF: James | Anthony
PF: Davis | Kuzma
C: McGee | Howard

Nothing to be concerned about after game 1. Everything that went wrong will improve over the season.
Rotations: With Kuzma out, Vogel forced this idea of staggering and keeping at least one of the two stars out there majority of the game. This team functions best when they are both on the floor. Not having Rondo to facilitate the 2nd unit hurt us. It was also stupid to keep KCP on Kawhi the entire game. Lebron either needs to man up and take the assignment or leave it to Green.
Playcalling: Clearly not enough pick plays with Bron and AD. Seemed like every other play was a Davis ISO on the wing. (Having Clotgram flashbacks here). He needs to be getting fed the ball down low more.
Shooting: AD and Bron missing the majority of their open jumpers will not be the norm. (KCP doing this might be though).
Hopefully they just move KCP down to the G-league or release him. I don't give a shit if it was just one game. I'm not interested in another season of his ups and downs. I'd rather have Shump, Melo, or JR Smith.
