Meanwhile, Kobe consistently ranks in the 12-14 zone. So he’s locked in there.

The question is... who gets the mystique-shrouded #11 spot? Who is the official “Honorable Mention” of basketball’s most prestigious list?

I think he’s sort of dropping in “real time” so to speak, which is why the most recent lists have him at 14. Itll take a little while yet to see if that continues to be a consensus, or if it’s an anomaly in the polling. Prior to the last few weeks he was consistently being put in the 12 spot on multiple lists over a couple years. So we need a bit more time to see if this 14 thing is for real. But it certainly looks to be.

So I think officially he’s still #12, but we can all see the writing on the wall. His formal ranking hasnt caught up yet with his current real-time free fall.
