discuss or disgust?

good move or washed, 4 on 5 offensively and not the same on defense?

Smells like a Grizzlies trap to get some team to give them something for him. Can't blame them for trying, but they're probably gonna lose this battle.

Memphis got multiple future 1sts out of the Warriors so it's not like it's a huge loss for them to eat the contract. Don't see anyone giving up assets for his expiring because this upcoming FA is terrible.

So there's still ZERO reason to buy him out then?

Roster spot? Why keep him if he's not contributing for them?

So 17.2 mil + money for extra player to...tank anyway?

I don't think they're too concerned about competing this year.

They're paying for Iggy either way so why not let him go and take on a new player? It's a wasted roster spot and they already got 3 firsts out of it, no way anyone's giving up assets to get him.

This biggest point of Iggy signing with the Lakers is the fact that he won't be on the Clippers.

They truly have no reason to do so, and I commend them for waiting to get assets or get enough in a buy-out to make it worthy instead of bending for players.

Honestly, I hope they let him rot. They already tried to negotiate down a buyout. No one's going to pay more than an expiring + 1 or 2 second rounders. Just take a stand against the players for once and show em that they are not entitled to anything, especially if they won't give up money.

I admit I also feel this strongly because Iguodala's a real dick of a person. Might could go easier on a player in this situation if he was an amiable vet, and definitely if he hadn't just come off 3 champs.

Whether iggy goes to philly clippers lakers or even denver....

Hes part of the players union. Hes very vocal and knows the right people.

NBA teams cant control these players. It's not the NFL. It's a partnership

They're not getting any assets. You can't name me one team that would give up players or picks for his expiring. Have you seen the 2020 FA class?

Yeah they could keep him just to spite others, but why would they care about him moving to a contender? They pay him either way and made out like bandits already.

If Memphis wants to hold a player hostage then so be it. Not a good look for them.

I will accept any wing player currently in the NBA OR G-League if it means they'll be taking KCP's minutes.

Why should they do him a favor?

Have Iggy give back his entire salary if he wants to leave already. Why does he care about this years when he's had a career's worth :eyeroll:

Why should he give his money back to play for a contender? :lol Grizzlies took on the salary knowing that he would likely never suit up for them, but the 3 first rounders in the mid 2020s are way more valuable than the 17 mil. They will either waive or trade him.

And he signed the contract knowing that he might get traded to a team he doesn't want to play for.

:confusedshrug:

You seem a bit desperate for Memphis to buy out Iggy bruh, why is that?

What is being reported around the league is that they'll look to hold onto him until the deadline and will waive him if they don't pull off a trade. One of the two is going to happen.
