Depends when he comes back. If hes way ahead of schedule and he's back half way through than it's a possibility but it will still take 15-20 games to get his legs back. I just don't see it though. Even if he does come back early and he's back to his self fairly fast, they're gonna be so far behind the eight ball it will probably be to little to late.

If Curry and Green miss the same number of games as the last few seasons, I wouldn't discard the Warriors tanking the season.
They should think about the 2020 - 2021 season, when they'll have a healthy and not out of shape Thompson, and they could have fixed their roster by then, trading Russell and the pick they'll next summer.

Kerr just said last week that it's highly unlikely that Klay returns this season.

They know they're gonna suck, they just can't say it out loud yet.

Said it before, I'll say it again. They couldn't find ONE late first rounder/second rounder/undrafted/g-league player who is rotation-worthy in FIVE years?? Patrick McCaw was the best they could do.

If things are looking desperate enough he might try to force him to come back earlier.

As is tradition for the Warriors.

They found guys like Kevon Looney, Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook but had no space to retain them all. Looney got injured in his first game, he gave them some great minutes in the Playoffs, he'll be great.

Still too early in the season to count them out, they'll go through some rough stretches but could be .500 or a bit better in March once Klay returns. Steph isn't going to shoot 20% from three all season, he'll average out to his usual 40+. D'Angelo Russell isn't going to shoot 29% on 2s either. It's just two games.

Of course Kerr said that Klay wasn't coming back to lower expectations and to take pressure off him, but we know Thompson will make an attempt if they're in a position to get to the Playoffs.

It won't happen.

Remember Myers crying when KD got injured.

No way they rush Klay back this time.

Still think 5-7 is possibility even though the team has been hot trash.
