Who was guarding Penny

No way he does that against a goat level defender or anything

Penny only averaged 15.2 points :wtf: :biggums: :biggums:

Penny would get absolutely wrecked by premier SFs/SGs/PGs of today.

Name me a single athletic or good player that Pippen locked down as the primary defender.

Pippen locked down Magic. BEST WING DEFENDER OF HIS ERA.

Pippen wasn't the primary defender on Magic and did spot-duty on him - the series would've been a tough 6 or 7 game series with MJ on Magic for 100% of the time instead of 70%, so Pippen simply allowed the Bulls to dominate the great Lakers instead of the series being a knock-down, drag-out series like the Jazz.

Btw, Magic averaged 19/7/13 on 62% ts, so Pippen nor MJ locked anyone down..

However, MJ destroyed his matchup (Magic) by outscoring him by 12 ppg while averaging nearly the same assists WITHOUT PLAYING PG (bringing the ball up)..

No one has ever averaged 10+ apg without playing PG other than MJ in the 1991 Finals - it's the best passing performance ever..

Thanks for playing

Jordan guarded Magic far more than Pippen did that series. All you've done is shown us that you havent watched that series.

Penny was a beast.

It makes me, as a Shaq fan, wish MJ never came back. That Orlando team would have stuck together at least until Penny got injured. Dude deserved a ring, maybe could have got it in 96 if not for that crazy ass Bulls team.

But it does seem like his body was destined to fail.

Penny and Grant used to put it in Pips pooper

he couldnt guard those 2 nikkas at all. Any other wing from that era he got that (besides MJ obviously) but those 2 took dumps on him routinely

Penny had a really quick first step. That seemed to trouble Scottie a little. Even in the 96 ECF which Chicago swept, he was having some trouble on the perimeter. But he did well in the post. Penny couldn't post down Pippen because he didnt have the strength to do so.

Regarding your statement, I agree and I always thought it was odd. Pippen was a really good lock down defender. He could usually stay in front of whoever he was guarding but vouldnt quite do that with Penny. It makes me wonder what would have happened had he guarded prime Wade.

Pip used to have problems with Dominique, too. But 'Nique was 'Nique. Wasn't nobody stopping him.
