The NBA is a joke. Defense is completely frowned upon and guys are ref baiting incessantly.

But it's all we have currently.

We do have Kwahi and the Clippers. They're not giving up 150 points in a game.

They are giving up 112 points a game though, which is not exactly lock down defense.

there is an unspoken rule to not play defense against your friends in the NBA

you only see defense played against certain type of players and in select match ups

Having 4-5 guys on the floor capable of shooting the 3, tears up a defense. Even if you bring hand checking back, scoring would still be up from the "good ol days".
