View Full Version : So you're saying Mitch Richmond could have 00' Shaq's scoring burden/dominance?

Peak 00' Shaq and peak 71' Kareem are the only guys to win the title as scoring champion, other than MJ's 6 rings - Mitch would need this level of scoring dominance to win even 1 ring in MJ's shoes - he obviously doesn't come close, and neither would nearly anyone else, even in their best season.
So if you want to put MJ's rings in the proper perspective, think about the scoring burden/dominance-level of 00' Shaq or 71' Kareem - that's the scoring burden level that MJ was at for all 6 rings
And in today's game, the guys capable of winning the scoring title employ a ball-dominant style that can't win without team-hopping (for extra talent to offset the suboptimal style).. So ultimately, no one in today's game is capable of having the scoring burden/dominance during a title run that 00' Shaq or 71' Kareem had, or MJ's 6 rings

24 year old PEAK MJ got swept by a team that got taken the distance by a 0-allstar team. Inexplicable. Unconscionable. Unforgivable.

Lebron might win this year, but not as the team's best player (similar to Magic < Kareem), and obviously not as scoring champ.. Also, Curry's injury happened on a drive with no spacing, which was the standard in prior eras - he wouldn't last 5 games in prior eras.

Draymond > 89' Pippen, right?
So Curry should've had no problem winning 47 games, getting the paltry 6 seed, executing upsets in the first 2 rounds (including the #1 SRS), and taking a dynasty 6 games in the conference finals...
Right?

Most guys like Durant, Lebron, Curry, Giannis, or Kyrie typically MISS the playoffs in their first few seasons.
So 1-9 represents an accelerated learning curve that MJ was good enough to be on - this superior track led to an organic dynasty, while today's stars were lottery-bound early on, and therefore required team-hopping and/or assembling big 3 super-teams to win rings.

You guys seriously think it's just coincidence that ONLY peak shaq, peak kareem, and MJ won a title as the league's top scorer?
it clearly requires goat ability.. it can't be just coincidence

Lebron's finals record without Ray Allen's and Kyrie's shots.

The Golden Era of the shooting guard position was from year 2000 to 2012. Jordan's biggest rival in the 1990's was a Buddy Hield Clone.

MJ's best comp at SG > 07' and 11' Lebron
Clyde averaged 26/8/5 against MJ/Pip/Rodman in the 90' and 92' Finals - that's the best competition and perimeter defense possible.. whereas lebron laid eggs in the 07', 11, and 13' Finals against worse comp.
