View Full Version : Why did Wizards Jordan failed to led his team into the playoffs?

The eastern conference from 1999 to 2003 is pure garbage. Might be the worst conference of all time. Jordan played with Richard Hamilton in his first year. And played with Stackhouse and Larry Hughes in his 2nd stint with the team. Everybody's criticizing LBJ. He has more mileage and wear and tear in his body than a 39/40 years old MJ. Jordan retired 3x ala Floyd May weather.

Those teams were trash. Won 19 games the season before Jordan. Definitely more trash than last year's Lakers.

Jordan constructed the team. And it was a very stupid decision to trade Rip Hamilton for Jerry Stackhouse. Jerry was a volume scorer while Rip was good at moving without the ball. Jordan was still a ball dominant player in his late 30's.

Love MJ, but he won't be a 6x NBA champion without Phil and Pippen.

Jordan simply didn't posess the floor raising ability to carry garbage casts deep into the playoffs like LeBron and Hakeem could

It's no secret that Jordan was a trash GM. I agree that trading Hamilton for Stack was a terrible move. Injuries to Jordan also had an effect.

MJ increased the Wizards' wins by 18 in 2002, but that wasn't enough - the wizards were too horrible to make it, just like Lebron's 04', 05' and 19' teams (although we all know MJ would've made it last year with Pipgram and company)

How has your grammar not improved after 10 years. You'd think you'd pick up a few things along the way just from, ya know, reading stuff every now and then.

MJ has never been much without multiple All-NBA defenders to carry him. He had Pippen and Rodman to carry him around. We've seen what MJ was capable of Pre and Post Pippen.

Huh? Love LeBron but he wouldn't be much without Kyrie love Wade Bosh Allen. Love Kobe but he wouldn't be much without Shaq Phil Jackson Robert Horry. Love magic but he wouldn't be much without James worthy and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Love Duncan but he wouldn't be much without Manu Pop Parker and Robinson...

Isn't the whole point of basketball is that it's a team sport?

Why did Wizards Jordan failed to led his team into the playoffs?

Because he was old as *#%& with bad knees. Who was the last 39 year old who led their team anywhere? Just being in the court is an achievement at that age.

Little known fact: Before going down with injury that first year, Jordan had the Wizards in playoff contention leading into the AllStar break. They also had a Top 8 defense. When RIP returned from injury they went 15-1. Over that span, they had the top defense in the league. Jordan got injured again and it all went downhill afterwards, they lost 9 of their next 10 and their defense plummeted

He never really regained what was lost due to injury and they never recovered. Regardless he was playing very well prior to injury

All that said, he’s only missed the playoffs twice in his career. As a 39/40 year old. LeBrons currently already surpassed that by sitting at home 3 times now. So he’s failed there more than Jordan

Truth be told MJ has never been much without multiple All-NBA defenders to carry him. He was lucky he had Pippen and Rodman to carry him around while Nike and David Stern propped him up as best they could. We've definitely seen what MJ was capable of Pre and Post Pippen. It was not pretty. A quick recap shows his efforts:

1-9 Pre Pippen

0 playoffs Post Pippen

This is such a sad state of affairs

I herd from someone who really knows the truth that Jordan was 87 years old when he played with the Wizards. Just like Joe Louis when he fought Rocky Marciano..

He only played 60 games, starting 53 of them.

Wait, I’m confused ...

We are holding a 39-year-old Michael Jordan, coming off of three years of weight gain, atrophy, retirement and thanks to Ron Artest before the season ... a cracked rib cage.

Not making the playoffs with the shitty talent Washington Wizards, when he missed a significant amount of games with a knee injury, against him?

Even though before said injury he was the only player besides prime 23 year old Kobe Bryant, 16 years younger than Jordan ... averaging 25 points per game, 5 rebounds per game, 5 assists per game, and had already more than doubled Washington’s previous season record?

They were well on their pace to make the playoffs before Jordan injured his knee.

This is something to lambaste him for?

How pathetic are you Three 6 Mafia LeBron Stains?

Your loser boy missed the playoffs with a better team around him, while being five years younger, just last season.

Jordan's a tale of 2 careers

James' 8yr run of making the finals, he avg. 95gms a year which includes international play.

The most consecutive seasons MJ played before quitting in his prime was 7. After taking 2yrs off and 3 consecutive Finals runs he had to quit again citing severe mental exhaustion. That's with no international play in 96.

Safe to say if LeBron took the MJ path, he'd definitely play a total of 20+ years and still be effective into his late 30's early 40's

In the end, James didn't need to rest for 2yrs in order to keep playing. He's had the biggest workload of any player in NBA history. We have facts to show that MJ couldn't sniff that workload.

This is an incredibly stupid post btw. Typical
