In his 17th season, Abdul-Jabbar averaged 23.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.6 apg, shot 56.4% from the field and 76.5% from the line, at 33.3 mpg for 79 games. Led the Lakers to 62 wins and the Conference finals where they were upset by a younger more athletic team in the Rockets (Olajuwon and Sampson were both too much).

KAJ is a legend but good grief was his rebounding horrible when he got older.

It's Kobe. Lebron's had a nice start to the season but we know he won't keep this up for the entire season. Kobe started out averaging 30/5/5 on 48/38/86 shooting his first 30 games but there are going to be stretches where older players just don't have it as consistently. Lebron thankfully has AD to carry him through those so he should be fine come Playoff time.

I can almost assure you that LeBron’s advanced stats will decimate Kobe’s at the end of the year. Just sayin’

How many 30 point triple doubles did Kobe get that season??

They should because he's playing on a better team. This isn't baseball. Kobe's efficiency would have been a lot higher if he wasn't forced to play 40+ minutes a game for long stretches of the season due to all the injuries and no bench.

Yes... that's exactly how it works. Lakers had no other option besides Kobe on a lot of those nights so he had to constantly take bad shots when the offense broke down, Lebron always has the option to throw it down to AD in the post and clear out, he has shooters around him to space the floor, he has good defensive players around him who create transition opportunities.

He had young Dwight, Gasol and Nash. Spare me the sob story.

Gasol and Nash missed half a season each, Nash and his back-up were both injured at the same time. Why are you pretending that Dwight is someone Kobe could just give the ball to in the post? You know he's never been that guy. 36 y.o Antawn Jamison or prime Kuzma? Heck, give me KCP over the D-leaguers we had coming off the bench.

Can you name me the shooters the 2013 Lakers had to space the floor for Kobe? Scorers off the bench? How many games did the projected starting 5 actually play together? Why are you pretending that Dwight wasn't coming off a season-ending back injury that required surgery?

Lebron had a deeper roster last year than Kobe in 2013. Yes, BI and Lonzo did miss time but they're trash so they don't count, right?

Oh wait, Lebron "activated Playoff mode" while BI was still playing, won 1 out of 5 games with BI putting up 28/6/3 on 59/64/74 splits in those games  Kuzma played in those games as well. What made it worse is that we lost to lottery teams who were not trying to win :lol

It's as if he didn't also have Rondo, McGee, Bullock, KCP and Josh Hart when he was losing against the Suns, Pelicans, Knicks or Grizzlies.

Lebron stans have amnesia or just didn't watch last season at all.
Lonzo Ball averaged 10 points. :(

You don't need to play 17 seasons if you already got 6 titles, 6 Finals MVP's and 5 league MVP's with 10 scoring titles by your 13th season.

?

These guys are crying about Zo and BI missing 30 games but in the same breath say Kobe had peak Nash, Gasol, Artest and Howard who apparently played all 82 games.

Can you guys win an argument and not resort to trolling?

Easily the best 39 year old ever, at an era when the C position was still thriving.
