I think it's hilarious how the Nets starting line-up is objectively worse as a collective than the bench. I've never seen them look good together.

But a line-up of Kyrie-Dinwiddle-Levert-Clax-Allen would thin out the bench too much but it's one of their more successful line-ups iirc.

ayton can't hit a 3 but he's got a jumper. rebounding and defense also get better with ayton. rubio is the leading rebounder on the team for reference.

plus, he's a reliable bucket, just gotta pass it to him and it's an easy 2. not saying we make the playoffs, but we're not tanking this year.

not true. he started out terrible and got better especially the last couple of weeks. he shut the paint down a couple games last year. we swept a healthy bucks mainly bc of his defense.

the 1st game this season confirmed he's gotten better, he's learning as he goes but his shot blocking and man to man is better than baynes.

You clearly didn't watch him all of last year. He continuously improved his defense as the year went on. He had some huge games defensively where his defense pretty much single handedly kept us in the game and won us it.

He really has potential to be an elite defender and he's extremely coachable. Loves taking on criticism, loves to study what other great players are doing and try to copy it, and obviously he has the tools to do just about anything any big man in the league does. It's kind of ridiculous that people have been writing him off like he has no chance to be a good defender in this league since before he was even drafted.

What difference does it make honestly, they're both beasts. They're both going to feast whether it's from the starting 5 or off the bench. The point of the matter is at the end of the day having Ayton back is huge.

Our weakest lineup is when Kaminsky has to play minutes at center. He's a huge downgrade over both Baynes and Ayton. No matter what argument you come up with, having that sick center rotation back in action is a huge net-gain for us. And Ayton is young as f***, Baynes is hitting a 32 year old prime. This is probably the best we're ever gonna see from Baynes.

Ayton will only get better and better. He's our future. I agree with making Ayton earn his starting position back. He needs punishment for doing something dumb. The fire under his ass will be good motivation to push his game to the next level. We'll see what happens.
