View Full Version : Will Luka Doncic average a triple double?

He is currently putting up 27.7ppg on 48% shooting, 10.8 rpg and 9.1 apg.

Can he do it, he is nine games in. It would, of course, mess up Westbrook "legacy" when a sophomore does the same thing, just in a better way.

Luka patterned his game a lot off of Harden, and Lebron to some extent.

If Luka wanted to, he could average a trip dub.

He can average a triple double, but he is not a stat-padder so he won't focus on what numbers he is getting as much. He plays within the flow of the game.

Yeah he's more of a winner than a statpadder.

He realized empty stats in Ls only fool the casuals.

Nah, but he'll pull out that ol' Bran statline of 27-8-7 or something similar to that

what?

he was visibly looking to get his 10th assist just a few days ago, think it was against the knicks

NBA players are very aware of their stats. If they are near a triple double they will typically go out of their way to get an extra rebound or assist. It has been like that for a long time.

Having said that it will be hard for him to do it over an entire season. I would bet against it.

So there's only like 5 guys in the league who aren't putting up meaningless stats?

He's averaging peak Larry Bird numbers atm. Let that sink in.

He can average a triple double if he wants but he'll never have that killer instinct in him. Dude's a beta just like his daddy, LeBron. Dude was kissing LeBron's ass after losing to the Lakers. Bitchmade, just like Simmons

He needs to have 42 of them in a full season.

For real, these people always spout some bullshit like that about someone just because they like him.

HURR DURR HE DUZNT SEEK OUT TRIPLE DOUBLES, HE JUST WANTS TO WIN... and then some games you notice he ends up with 10 rebounds and 10 assists :lol

Westbrook seeks out triple doubles, but only when the games are decided. His teams have a ridiculously good record when he gets one.

The game was also slowed down by a lot back then. Statistics only go so far for me when comparing the GOATS. This isn't baseball, Bird is GOAT whitey and I don't see Doncic somehow becoming a greater player for basketball unless he wins a few rings.

Tough task.

I know you weren't saying he's Bird or anything but I'm very interested to see how the entire season goes for him. He's transitioning to this level of basketball beautifully but can he take more of a physical style for 82??

He could but it will be hard to win a championship if he has to play this huge role for a whole season. He is basically a bigger version of Jame Harden. He is going to be in the MVP convo for years to come.

I doubt that he'll get the rebounds in the later part of this year. But its going to happen one way or the other pretty soon.

The 80's were a very high paced era. Even adjusted per-100 possessions, Luka's stats are with Bird.

I think he could average 10 rebounds with this Mavs roster because he's their best rebounder and I see them using him more like Russ, where they box out and let him get the board to initiate the offense like Westbrook does, he's great at that. They don't really have great rebounders, Porzingis is 7-3 but he's not physical enough and has never put up more than 7 boards so I don't really see anything changing throughout the season.

I predict top 5 in MVP voting, he's just so damn good atm and will prob end up a top 10 player if this keeps going.

Okay then disregard lol. I just figured for sure there Would have been less possessions back then and not so much early Chucking but Guess I
