Between 2011 and 2018, San Francisco experienced a massive increase in reported incidents of human feces found on public streets.

In 2011, just over 5,500 reports were logged by the San Francisco Department of Public Works; in 2018, the number increased to more than 28,000.

The government watchdog Open the Books documented the sharp increase over time in a stunning chart, first spotted by the BuzzFeed editor John Paczkowski.

"I will say there is more feces on the sidewalks than I've ever seen growing up here," San Francisco Mayor London Breed told NBC in a 2018 interview. "That is a huge problem, and we are not just talking about from dogs — we're talking about from humans."

San Francisco has struggled with a feces problem for years. The city even employs a "Poop Patrol" that attempts to keep the streets clean and focuses on the Tenderloin neighborhood.

But the problem is bigger than just keeping the streets clean — the issue appears to be related to the city's struggle to accommodate its homeless population amid skyrocketing rent prices and a decreasing supply of affordable housing.

A 2017 survey of San Francisco's homeless population counted nearly 7,500 people living on the street. That population faces limited public resources, and public bathrooms are no exception.

Whether the Poop Patrol is able to reverse the trend on San Francisco's streets remains to be seen, but there's an indication that the crew is a bandage on a problem much bigger than dirty streets.

This issue has been growing rapidly in Austin the last few years, luckily just a couple weeks ago the governor basically ordered the city to start kicking bums off the street. We have a Democrat mayor who has to put on a big SJW act to appease all the soft, phony left wing cucks in Austin who've convinced themselves unconditional tolerance and sensitivity is all the world needs since it's all they have to offer.

Anyway that's the nice thing about being a blue city in a red state. Even though most individuals don't have the sense to understand a logical balance, as a whole things don't get pulled too far in either direction.


Unfortunately for California the vast majority of the state is off the deep end in a single direction. Which is why it's been gradually turning into a bottomless shit hole, pun intended.

It's true low class people like Justin live everywhere. And it isn't simple as "one side is right/good, the other is wrong/bad."

But on the spectrum of egregiousness, this particular issue goes way off the deep end in places like SF because of the pervasiveness of this dogmatic, puritanical culture of 'tolerance,' that people fear for their social reputation if they step out of conformity. So nobody addresses the issue.

These places are like left wing versions of Salem, Massachusetts in the late 1500s.

I grew up in a predominately black neighborhood riddled with crime and drugs in Cincinnati until I was 19 and moved away. It was called Over-the-Rhine (OTR). I remember one day when I was around six or seven years old my mother and I were walking to the farmers market nearby.
