Danny Green is and has always been markedly better at that role

Did Klay Thompson fall into a black hole?

This is a huge move for the nets for two major reasons

1) Good hard nosed defense versatile 3&D guard with championship experience. Positive chemistry guy and in my personal opinion, the best leader and human being in the NBA.

2) Shump is the true Prince of NY. Anyone from NYC knows this. Not only does he have huge NY connections, so does his wife. This is a positive move for KD, Kyrie, etc to have strong direct networks associated with basketball like that. Shumpert is very likely one of the 15 most famous current NBA players tbh. Strong social media influence and just the ultimate locker room guy.

In my opinion his leadership and performance for the Kings that he had for the first 50 games pre all star break had him as a top 10 MVP candidate of the season to that point, mainly due to his leadership carrying a locker room to 5 games over .500. Kings statistically upgraded by getting Barnes significantly yet we were like 8 games under .500 over a 30 game sample size.

No of course not, keep adding to the list of reasons why that post was wrong I only named the first player that came to mind - Klay might actually be the best at that role

Shump is just a shell at this point :oldlol:

He's a passable offensive player and an intense defensive competitor but his true value is in his all time great level leadership skills. Best current leader in the NBA.

This has been accurate since the Cavs 2016 run.

Shump hasn't been the same since his ACL tear many years ago but is one of the worst players in the NBA now.

Yh and the Lakers paid 10x what we paid for a slightly better Iman Shumpert

Shump is an absolute bargain

Always fun seeing how overrated role players can get based on past reputations if they were lucky enough to be on a contender. Shumpert is shit.

Unless he is surrounded by a great team where he is only asked to focus only on defense and nothing else then he might be ok...but even then he isn't that good. You put him on a bad/mediocre team and he'll do absolutely nothing for you.

Ya it's a dumb statement but to be completely honest...he did specify "sg" but still he isn't in the same universe as Green. Most of the 3 & D players in the league are though of as "sf's".

Did you see how badly the Kings fell off without Shumps on court leadership and defensive intangibles?

You just look at the stat sheet and think he's a bad player when reality he has borderline all star level impact on his teams

btw how are people saying **** and ****ing without it being censored
