Nope, that would be King James Harden.

Best combination of scoring + passing in history, sorry bub.

I mean your criteria is all over the place

For scoring you listed his total points over his career. So if you're basing it off that, he can't possibly be the best passer. He won't come anywhere near Stocktons record. He's also well below Kidd, Nash, Mark Jackson and Magic.

If leading the league after a few games is the criteria for assists, then he suffers when you look at scoring. James Harden currently leads in points, and career-wise LeBron is below Jordan and others for points per game and scoring titles

So which is it?

Hardens argument based on their peak play is stronger than LeBrons for best combination of scoring/passing, assuming Harden has peaked already. Hell Harden's argument TODAY for scoring/passing is better than Brons. Doncic is on pace to surpass him as well and might pass him up this season in both categories once Porzingis starts playing like he's capable

He will go down as the most versatile player of all time.

A guy who in a close game can score the basket assist the next play and get a steal/block all in sequences.

No one is even close to his complete skillset.

And when you consider his longevity, competition, consistency, AND doing it in playoffs every single year...It's a wrap.

Lebron gets by on his athletic ability but has always been a shaky shooter and a turnover machine and has mostly struggled with off-ball defense, he gambles for steals and makes a couple highlight plays, he's a great stat-padder like Westbrook.

MJ is easily the most versatile player in league history. He can play elite defense 1-4, whether off-ball or on-ball and he could run an offense and average 8-10 assists but could also score 35-50 whenever he wanted, deadliest mid-range shooter and an elite scorer in the post. was just as unstoppable as Lebron in the paint but could also make his FTs at a high rate, never a liability in crunch time.

Yeah he has it all but he's not the best at any of those. Mj was a better scorer, magic was a better passer and a whole crap ton of people were better rebounders and defenders.

What are you talking about dude?

Umm try again he's not mj and magic scoring and passing wise. Magic is 1st all time in playoff assists per game and LeBron is 16th. Mj is is 1st in pts per game and LeBron is 5th. So it's more like Jerry West's scoring with rod Strickland's passing.

Jordan's points + assists is the highest ever:

Per 100 Possessions Regular Season

40.4 points + 7.0 assists = 47.4 total

Per 100 Possessions Playoffs

43.3 pts + 7.4 = 51.1 total

^^^ that's literally the highest combination of points + assists ever... :confusedshrug:...

Furthermore,

- Only MJ averaged 30/5/5 for his career in the regular season... or playoffs.. or Finals

- Only MJ won a championship averaging 30 points and 10+ assists

- Only MJ averaged 33/8/8 for a season

- Only MJ led his team in scoring by goat amounts, while also leading the team in passing (averaged 10-20 more than 2nd option for every series of his career, while leading Bulls in assists for 6 of 9 playoff runs alongside Pippen)

Lebron was outscored by a teammate in at least 3 or 4 different series, possibly 5 or 6, while MJ was never outscored by a teammate

Furthermore, Lebron only scored 2-5 more than his sidekick in the 3 Finals wins, while Jordan scored 10-20 more for every Finals

Only LeBron led his team in points and assists for all of his championships

MJ never played this bad:

Lebron's worst series

2007 ECSF vs NJN:... 24.7 on 42.3%
2007 ECF vs DET:..... 25.8 on 44.7%
2007 Finals vs SAS:.. 22.0 on 35.6%

2008 ECSF vs BOS:.... 26.7 on 35.5%

2010 ECSF vs BOS:.... 26.8 on 44.7% (quit)

2011 RD 1 vs PHI:...... 24.2 on 46.9%
2011 ECF vs CHI:....... 25.8 on 44.7%
2011 Finals vs DAL:... 17.8 on 47.8%

2013 RD 1 vs MIL:..... 24.5 on 60.7%
2013 ECSF vs CHI:.... 23.6 on 43.8%
2013 Finals vs SAS:.. 25.3 on 44.7%

2014 ECF vs IND:...... 22.8 on 55.7%

2015 ECSF vs CHI:.... 26.2 on 39.9%

2016 RD 1 vs DET:.... 22.8 on 48.7%
2016 ECSF vs ATL:... 24.3 on 50.7%

It's funny because I just took the Pippen's worst series (http://insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13693383&postcount=216) template and barely had to change the numbers..

MJ only has 2 series that compare - 96' Finals (27.3 on 41.5%) and 97' ECF (30.2 on 38.7%)..

(the 97' ecf shouldn't count because he averaged 30, and I omitted all lebron series where he averaged 30+ regardless of efficiency)

Bulls' assist leader in playoffs:

1988 - MJ
1989 - MJ
1990 - MJ
1991 - MJ
1992 - Pip
1993 - MJ
1996 - Pip
1997 - MJ
1998 - Pip

MJ led the Bulls in assists for 6 of 9 playoff runs alongside Pippen

^^^ So both MJ and Lebron led their team in passing, but only MJ carried his team in scoring as well - Lebron needed an equal-scoring teammate to win the Finals (2-5 more than 2nd option), while MJ carried the team (10-20 more than 2nd option)

Ultimately, you only had to surround MJ with cheaper hustle guys because he carried the team's scoring, whereas Lebron needs expensive scorers and playmakers because he can't carry the scoring like MJ
.
