If the Lakers need to rely on a 37-year old carrying the heavy load with 30 ppg + elite D in the playoffs (which is what they will need of him), they don't have enough.

Kuzma is a nice trade chip, but making a move is going to be really difficult given the salaries of the Lakers players and the fact that they can't hurt their depth in a trade or it won't be worth it.

Rondo / Kuzma / Cousins / Dudley / Daniels / Cook...that only adds up to like 14 million.

So, not going to be easy.

Beal would have to request a trade for this to be even in the realm of possibility. Then along with trading Danny Green, KCP would have to waive his no trade clause to match salary.

Won't happen though. Beal is content collecting a check and not competing at the highest level. He knows the Wizards won't be going anywhere during his prime years.

Kuzma hasn't even been bad. He's already hit a bunch of timely shots and like you said, he's just getting his rhythm back. Bran stans just looking for early scapegoats and with AD playing like the DPOY, they've gotta move down the pecking order for their next victim.

Agreed. He's percentages are there. Just not enough minutes. If he was getting over 30 or so minutes a game he'd be up to 16 or 17 points a game as a legit third option behind AD+LBJ who are both about 25 points per game.

He's been fine to me and should get better as the season progresses.
