I didnt remember him to be anything special, but the way he's always talking down established NBA guys like Jalen and RJ on TV makes me think he must been a bit of an alpha before the accident

Borderline all-star possibly. I could've seen him averaging something like 18/9 in his best seasons in the NBA.

He was a stud at Duke who could shoot the NBA three even then. Not sure how it looks like it didn't translate to the pros right off. Can't remember what his court vision was like. He had hops. He had a trip double one Saturday night at the UC vs. the East's best team and the league's third best, New Jersey, when Mr. Triple Double J-Kidd still played for them.

If you watch kyle lowry... jason William's is comparable to him.

Solid builtcombo guards that can run point
Tenacious defenders
Great range

Jason was faster and more athletic but I believe he would a Kyle lowry with a mean street.

19ppg 5rpg 7assists with inconsistent shooting FG pecentage

Championship-level PG.

The passion, the grit, the basketball IQ. JayWill was born leader and winner, who was robbed of his true potential.

He was a very good scoring guard in college. He could have been a Kyle Lowry level player in his prime. I was 12 in 1999 when he made his NCAA Debut. I think he was already nba retire after his sophomore season. Me and my classmates thought it was funny that he changed his name after being drafted by the Chicago Bulls. He was now known as Jay Wlilliams because White Chocolate was getting famous.

He was perceived as a bust iirc. To be fair he never had a chance to develop because the accident happened.

He wasnt perceived as a bust. He was on a chicago team extremely immature. His rookie season was decent with great flashes

Yeah bust is a strong word but I am very sure that a lot more was expected of him than what he produced his rookie year.

Yes. An athletic Chris Paul type (yes Chris Paul was athletic when he was young but Jay was smaller).

Hard to predict careers etc but he had all the talent and skills that anyone would need to excel!

Makes me think what if for Bobby Hurley too.

He wasn't good. The gap between what he was supposed to be and what he was would have been Ricky Rubio-huge, IMO, had his career played out.
