View Full Version : MJ in the 1995 playoffs "I took myself out of the game"
Hey Yo

May 5, 1995
Game 4 vs. Charlotte
"Jordan was only 8 of 21 from the field and went scoreless for a 16-minute stretch in the third and fourth quarters. However, he rebounded to score 7 of the Bulls' final 8 points. "I took myself out in the third quarter and these guys knew they had to stand on their own two feet," Jordan said. I knew I wasn't in sync. I was glad for once they pulled up my slack. I owe them one"
LOL @ this MOFO saying "for once they picked up my slack"
What an egotistical, non-grateful bitch. Making it sound as if he's never a bad game until that point and carried his teammates at all times. As if his teammates never played well w/o him on the floor and should've been bowing down to his quitting ass. We saw how they played w/o him the previous year.... got further in the playoffs than MJ did in 95.
And.... so much for his stans "MJ would just keep shooting if he was in a funk. He'd go through grind" Instead, he just removed himself from the game altogether. :oldlol:

Isn't 95 the comeback year half way into the season after taking a year or two off?
How is this perplexing to OP? He wasn't in top form, who cares

They didn’t play Shaq, Penny and Horace in 94. Suggesting the Bulls were better without Jordan is monumentally stupid. Then again, it IS a Hey Yo thread...
On that, this is from the article you posted:
“You take him out of the lineup and we win this series easy," said Charlotte's Dell Curry. "His play isn't as important as his presence. You can see the confidence and the pressure relieved off Pippen and Armstrong. He took the pressure off everyone.”
So you kinda played yourself :applause:

Why is MJ living rent free in OP's head? He came back rusty and took a .500 team on a 13 - 4 run to end the season, they weren't in danger of losing to Charlotte but his guys did for once pick up the slack for him when he was gassed, didn't Lebron go to the locker room in the midst of a Game 7 and didn't return before mid-way into the 4th quarter against Indiana while George Hill and Kevin Love went on a run without him? Lebron was the only starter with a negative +/- in that game and Love & Hill led the Cavs in the 4th quarter in a 4-point win.

The fact that you're even attempting to downplay LeBron's 2018 playoff run signals a very loud 'retard' alarm. Carry on.

But he literally took himself out and went to the locker room in a close Game 7 and had K.Love & G.Hill close the game out for him..how is that any different from a rusty MJ taking a breather up 2 - 1 in a 5-game series? At least Jordan still closed out the game.

lol, Jordan lives rent free in the heads of the same 10 people on this board (who have like 5 alts each probably).
Jordan is GOAT. Bronny is never going to replace him. That was settled ages ago as far as the general public is concerned. Get over it.
No one in 10 years will give one sh*t about LeBron shoes/clothing/legacy, Jordan is still tops 20 years after retiring from the Bulls. There's gonna be no Foot Locker you walk into 8 years from now that has a wall full of LeBron crap, because no one will give a sh*t.
This year and maybe next are about the last of LeBron's career being that relevant, you idiots who really are up on his jock strap should just enjoy that, because after that his legacy will fade and other players will become a lot more popular and the kids coming up won't give two farts about LeBron James.

What Curry said had no bearing on "the great fierce competitor like no other" (or say something similar in that effect to make him look inhuman) took himself out of a playoff game due to ineffectiveness. Allegedly for being out of sync.
I was told numerous of times that MJ would never do that. So what gives? :confusedshrug:

What Curry said has bearing on the context I placed it in, which is what you tried arguing in what I quoted (That Chicago was somehow better without Jordan or they didn't need him)
That said, Jordan took himself out because he was struggling then came back and closed the same game. That's quite different than what you're trying to paint it as

Well since he has SIX of them, you have many choices, probably think you're clever because of that dumb thread on this board, lol.
Enjoy the last two years (maybe at best) of LeBron being relevant because once that's done, so is he, and you the eight other idiot friends you have on this board (with 20 alts) who think he has some chance at GOAT (laughable ... if it was gonna happen it would've happened when he was 27-30, not now) might shut up and let the board get back to talking actual basketball.
In 7-8 years no one's gonna give a sh*t about LeBron's legacy, and that's the damn truth, just like kids now don't give a sh*t about Shaq and many even about Kobe.
He benefits from recency bias of being a still active player, just wait till he's finished and his stock will drop even further below Jordan like a rock.
Jordan is GOAT. To the general public, overwhelmingly so. It's why you can walk into any athletic apparel store in the year 2019 (soon to be 2020) and there's a giant wall for Jordan in every place. 8 years from now, lol you won't find mention of LeBron anywhere. Deal with it and move on.

What was MJ's best ring?
There is no best ring. They're all impressive. It depends on what you're looking for.
If you want to see the Bulls overcome their own doubts before exhibiting sheer dominance, watch the 91 run.
If you want to see the Bulls pushed to the limit in their prime, watch the 92 playoffs.
If you want to watch a battle-tested team turn it on for the playoffs and shut up all the doubters, watch the 93 run.
If you want to watch the Bulls stand on top of the hill and take on all comers from the first game to the last, watch the 96 or 97 playoffs.
If you want to watch an older, tired, infighting team on its last legs get pushed almost past its breaking point before pulling out an improbable W then watch the 98 playoffs.
Every last one of them showcased the most dominant, blood thirsty, competitive, prolific, creative basketball player ever in 6 different stages of his career rising to the challenge every single time. No brainer. Watch them all.

That said, Jordan took himself out because he was struggling then came back and closed the same game. That's quite different than what you're trying to paint it as
I never said they didn't need him. But what he said about his help was a huge ungrateful bitch move. Just the year before they took the Knicks to 7 games without him. FF a year later..... he's taking himself out of the game (which numerous people have said over the years that he would never do something like that) cause he was playing like shit. His quote implied that he was absolutely shocked and amazed that his teammates could actually keep the team in the game with him on the bench.
I didn't paint anything. MJ put 2 cotes on himself. All I did was show what an egotistical ungrateful bitch he was being and dis-spelled another myth about him.
