They are going to miss the playoffs for the first time since the 1997 NBA Season when David Robinson got injured.

This is the modern day Michael Jordan in the NBA. You cannot win in today's NBA with having only a midrange game.

STFU you insecure pinoy. If MJ was in today's NBA LeBron would have 0 rings and would be seen as the Durant/Curry to MJ. Forever the runner up, forever the 2nd best in the league.

Facts

Pair him up with Pippen and Phil Jackson and he might do okay, but just like MJ, Demar is = No Pip, no chip

Do you need to be reminded that Westbrook exists?

It's hard to feel bad for a guy making 20 plus million per year playing basketball, but damn...Demar must be feeling some type of way with how his career has shifted. Went from being the best player in an entire country, cult hero...to missing the playoffs with the Spurs while the Raptors still are playing great in the east.

To be fair, he's been the runner up twice as many times as the winner...

it's amazing how Demar and LMA - players who would dominate the '80s-90s era with their automatic midrange - are completely obsolete in the modern league

?

They have the 7th highest ORTG in the league, offense is not their issue.

I wouldn't count them out yet, they started off slow last year as well and ended up with the 7th seed, they're only 3 games back from the 8th seed at the moment.

Derozan cleared out his Instagram and dejounte Murray unfollowed the spurs and several teammates on Twitter, so some roster moves may be underway

Hopefully we'll be out of the Playoffs race in its entirety. The worst thing that would happen to our franchise is to be fighting for that 8th spot for years to come.

Trade Derozan, trade Aldridge. Focus on developing the young guys and let's play our hand in the draft. Pop should leave after this season and make Will Hardy the next Head Coach. No, Timmy and Becky are not good enough to be the head coach.

What went wrong with the Spurs this season?? They are ranked as the 27th on defense, and 27th on 3 points shooting. The Spurs are a bad defensive team plus being one of the worst 3 points shooting team in the nba. That's a very bad combination.

Would you blame derozan? I feel bad for the good fella. But either way, even if they don't make it in the postseason this year, that is assuming it still pushes through, at least the warriors also wouldn't and it feels good to see that.

6 times out of 9, LeBron is the runner up anyway.

What a legacy for the poor balding guy.

It finally happened. Good effort by the San Antonio Spurs in the Bubble. Good newa for them they have a potential lottery pick.

Westbrook's mid range game isn't even that good.

I'm a Spurs fan, and as far as I'm concerned the playoff streak was over way before the NBA came up with this gimmicked bubble idea. Not even an asterisk, just plain "Screw that, you missed the playoffs. Streaks over." Maybe if they had made the playoffs and then made a deep playoff run I would have changed my mind, but that wasn't gonna happen. It was a helluva run, though.

Weird to remember how young my sons were when the playoff run started. They literally have no memory of the Spurs not making the playoffs, or the Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl.

Very strange comparison. Based off of the numbers we do have, here are DeRozan and MJ's splits in mid-range/3 pt shooting from 10-16 ft, 16-29 ft, and 3 pt range.

DeRozan: .430/.386/.282
Jordan: .446/.453/.315

These numbers are Jordan's final two seasons in Chicago and his two seasons in Washington, where he shot the ball worse than the rest of his career, by far, yet MJ shot the ball significantly better from every distance, including 3 point range than DeRozan.
