I seriously have a hard time watching basketball now. Like every other shot is a 3. A three isn’t an exciting shot, it’s a standard shot now. So uncreative..

Also, I’ve never seen so many step backs. That would have been a travel in the past. They gotta do something about that.

In the past, you had a variety of positions. Guys that could rebound and post up.. And it was exciting to see a Dirk type player. You had guys that dunked and played defense.

I like to see all these things. I like to see different styles, not just ONE style. Most teams just have stretch bigs. Even Lebron takes more 3s than ever before. And he takes them from way back.

I mean what is this? What happened to basketball?

The mid to late 2000s was much better. A team like the we believe Warriors was exciting because they were unique. At the time the Jazz had Boozer and other bigs. The Spurs had Duncan. Lakers Gasol and Bynum. The game had a good balance.

A 3 point shot was a bonus shot. Not something you needed just to survive. Something has to done. If they can’t change the defensive rules, then maybe move the line back a foot or two. Maybe the side threes can stay but at least there would be less 3s made overall.

The question is where does the game go from here? Do you want even more 3s? Wouldn’t it be cool if a 2 was a 3 instead? See what happens then.

I enjoyed LeBron's chasedown blocks. Shit is legendary. I remember that block that on Iggy. :oldlol:

I'm 14 years old so that single play just made my childhood for missing out on Jordan. :oldlol:

Walk On Water, I wish that I was born in the 1980's to witness Jordan's greatness tho.

When an NBA game is played with Jaxson Hayes as your only center, you know the game is dead.

Just get rid of the Defensive 3 Seconds rule, that will fix most of the problems. No one cares for dunks anymore anyway.

If you like players playing within their roles, watch the Lakers. It's the most entertaining basketball there is to watch right now.

You got Dwight feasting down low on defense and offense, Caruso and Danny G locking up opposing guards with their tough defense, Rondo and Bron playmaking for the rest of the team, and a big man who (altho as of late has been jacking 3s....) has impeccable footwork in the post.

I wish Kuz would bring back his hook shot, that bitch was naaaaasty when he would hit it.

The next broken shot that will be mastered will be the hook shoot 3pointer.

Think about it, what defense exists to stop that?

The revolution is coming.

Hot Rod was doing it from the free throw line. Seem to remember Red Kerr throwing them from deep in the old timers games too

Rule changes come based on the best players in each era, with guys like Zion coming in I think they might consider taking away defensive 3 seconds.

Bring back short shorts and the 2-handed set shot pls.

We need more players imitating Harden and more teams playing like the Rockets. That will keep basketball exciting for the next 20 years.

I think the game for 2020 beyond will be around post players that can shoot 3s and play 2way.

AD
EMBIID
AYTON
JOKIC

these guys and elite SFs will dominate play.

I dunno, in the 80s it was a bunch of big men rubbing nut to butt trying to back each other down. Nothing good about that. Of course their are exceptions.

Want to make it better, extend the 3 line.

This all comes down to the 3pt shot (thank you, 73-win GSW). The league collectively realizing its value after 2016, which is spacing and the fact that it's so much more efficient than the 2pt shot besides dunks/layups, spelled the death of offensive variety.

People talk about bringing physicality back to the league and while that may certainly help in curtailing scoring and increasing game-intensity, it won't solve the 3pt issue. Teams will continue jacking them up.
