Will we see it again like 1998 MJ facing #2 option 10.7 Hornacek?

Will we ever see a player win a Finals while his 2nd option averages 15 on 41% and disappears for the last 2 games, while his 3rd best player averaged 4/8 off the bench?
and against an opponent that just swept two top 10 players (Shaq and Duncan)
Probably not - that's the best carry-job of all time, and it's magnified by MJ leading the Bulls to a 1 seed (24-11 record) without his sidekick for the first half of the season - despite the extra load, MJ still had enough left to carry the biggest scoring and clutch burden in Finals history and also the greatest clutch moment in the history of sports.

Nope, in terms of Finals '00 Shaq, '03 Duncan, & '06 Wade were all bigger carry jobs

Jordan averaged 33.5 ppg in the Finals and had 45 + game-winner in a close-out game with Pippen injured...
Bron OTOH never broke 30+ ppg in a Finals series win. MJ did it a lot. Kobe did it. Wade did it. Shaq did it. Hakeem did it.
Jordan didn't shoot 41% for the 1998 Finals btw, he shot 42.7%.

#2 options back then were top 10 worst all time :lol
98 Jazz, Jeff H (10.7 ppg) :lol
97 Jazz, Stockton (13 ppg) :lol
Come on now...

False. Shaq had Kobe close Game 4 OT and Game 6, they got blown out without Bean. Duncan had a lot of help in 03 actually and didn't really carry the offense nearly as much as Jordan, Wade did his thing but it was against a terrible defense so MJ's was more impressive.

53.8%TS in the 1996 Finals, Lebron had a 52.9%TS at his peak in 2013.

Kobe's was more consistent. Lebron was terrible for half of the series while Kobe consistently had 29+ pts 8+ assists in 4 out of 5 games, the one he didn't he still had 30/6/5/2 with 4 blocks in the close-out game.

Dear god if consistency is your metric then 1000% LBJ is the greatest ever.
Most consecutive double digit scoring games
Most consecutice 25 ppg seasons
Most consecutive all NBAs
Most consecutive Finals (since 1960)
Really? :lol

Not scoring-wise - no one carried the scoreboard like 93' or 98' Jordan - he set the record in both series with 38.3% of his team's points, including 50% in the 4th quarter while he was on the floor - Wade, Duncan, and Shaq all fall short of this burden... Furthermore, Wade's team was stacked to the brim, while Shaq and Duncan played weak opponents (especially Duncan).
So no - Jordan's 98' Finals is the goat carry-job when you consider scoring burden, teammate injuries/underperformance, and opponent strength... and also AGE - you're comparing peak Shaq/Wade/Duncan to 35-year old MJ, and MJ still beats them.. that should tell you everything you need to know.. :oldlol:

No, but that sounds like an era where a milkman could make a good living in the NBA
If you take any player from today (i'll just randomly pickone) like say a David Nwaba. He would absolutely dominate that era and be a multi champion as "the man"
