Handful of us been saying that for years now, there's a reason he's been flipped around from team to team
Lakers backcourt have been getting crushed the past half dozen games

avery bradley is very important for the lakers great defender, made the right plays and had a nice mid range and pnr with the bigs.

While he's had some flashes that proved me wrong a few times, overall his level of play has been pretty worthless for a long time now.
I don't remember the exact numbers, but I think in all but 1 year since 2013...his teams have had a negative net rating with him on the court...and have gotten better with him off the court.
His defense, for a long time now, hasn't been good either.
And, when it comes to the Lakers, he makes no sense on the court with Lebron.
Maybe he can play a bench role in which he and Davis run like 5 minutes a half together and it makes sense, but it would have to be super limited in my opinion.

His numbers don't seem useless. 5.5 Assists with 1.9 TOs in 21 minutes is pretty good. All has been wins. And he's been taking and making 3s, spacing the floor.
I don't watch him tho so...maybe.

He doesn't space the floor though. Teams don't maro him at the line because even though he's made some to start the season they don't believe it's a long term trend. They want him taking those shots.
His defense is really bad now. One play from last night stands out where he let a guy run past him to the corner for a wide open three and didn't follow to mark. There are frequent little mistakes like that that add up to costing the tream.
He makes flashy passes where simple ones will do. He's not doing a good job of creating easy looks for his teammates which is supposed to be his one strength. I'm thinking of a play where he drove into a crowd and tried to squeeze it in to a teammate in the midst of the crowd instead of kicking to an open shooter.
Another play I remember he got an assist the other night kicking to James with about half a second on the clock. James was covered and had to heave it up. He made the basket and Rondo got an assist, but it was the sort of play that doesn't help the team.
Put it all together: bad defense, teams want him to shoot so they sag off and clog the paint, passes that don't help. He's doing little to make his team better.

If by "once was", you mean a good 7-8 years ago. Every team he has been on since 2013 has had a better on/off with him sitting.
If you can't shoot/score, can't defend and your 1 positive attribute (passing) comes at the expense of running a more efficient offense, then guess what, you are a bad basketball player. And all impact metrics bear that out.
