True, but the problem with this type of analysis when it comes to a player like Parker and Melo and Wiggins...is that people act like the good games are more frequent than the bad in past years.

Not to mention with Parker...while he's clearly a talented player and has proven the ability to score...even on good efficiency most of the time...is that his defense has been atrocious most of his career.

So it isn't fair to say...yea, everyone has bad games...when the level of said player is considerably lower than a guy like Embiid on a nightly basis.

Even worse Parker has been quoted as saying defense isn't important.

That was like four years ago and Jabari has been very consistent this year and even his defence has improved. But people of course like to point out a bad game to say same old Jabari. some players are just not popular and that will forever be like that for whatever reason

Yes, the narrative does take time to catch up to what is actually happening.

But, in many ways, this is productive because a player shouldn't be judged on flashes or small samples.

It is fair to say that over the course of Jabari's career through the 2019 season...that he was a very poor defender. That is clearly fair to say and we shouldn't change that description until we have a large enough sample from the start of this year onward to make a rational person think that is just in the past.

Same thing with Wiggins. He was a subpar player the last 2 years...and gave the type of effort he should be ashamed of. He's clearly trying much harder and playing much better this year...but this just isn't a large enough sample to convince me that is the player he is now. I need to see at least half a season.

21.6/8.5 per 36 doesn't suck.
