2018

23rd offense / 12th defense
21st scoring margin

2019

24th offense / 12th defense
23rd scoring margin

doesnt seem they improved at all from 2018 -> 2019. Prolly no addition to the team

2020

5th offense / 2nd defense
3rd scoring margin

a MASSIVE shift:eek: what changed from 2019 to 2020? Seems they mustve had a massive upgrade that wasnt there a year ago considering there was no change to the team from 2018 to 2019 if any they got slightly worse

anyones knows :confusedshrug:

Anthony Davis and Frank Vogel really changed life for us. I think this coaching staff has been excellent and beyond anyone's expectations so far. Davis turned a really inconsistent defense into an elite one and deserves DPOY right now, he should also be in the MVP convo with him leading a 17 - 3 team on defense and in ppg.

LeGM orchestration at it's finest

Trimmed the fat of Ingram, Ball, Hart (see Pelicans decline)

Trimmed FO and coaching of Magic and Walton (already on Kings hot seat)

Enticed the presence of a hungry yet unsuccessful stud in Davis to LA (after years of getting swerved in FA)

Dwight, Caruso and Rondo who were on the brink of CBA retirement, now flourishing into some of the leagues most dynamic threats.

Top defense, Top offense, Top ball movement/assists. All under the well oiled system known as Lebron Ball with minimal chemistry

17-3 baby!

It's not like Davis is doing it alone. Both Dwight and Mcgee have been near his level combined. LeBron has also been a strong and high impact level defensive player. Saying he should be in the MVP conversation is a joke, though, when LeBron has clearly been the best and most impactful player on the team. Davis leads the team in scoring, yes, .6ppg more than LeBron, while Bran averages almost 8 more assists. lol It shows in the stats, too: LeBron 7.2 OBPM, Davis 2.6 OBPM. It's not really in question who has been the more impactful player offensively and overall for the Lakers. Davis has no business in the MVP convo. He is definitely in conversation for DPOY, though. For my money, it's Giannis right now, though. The best defensive player on the best defensive team in the league.

Lebron missed the Playoffs before AD came along.. Elevated a 35-win Laker team to 37 wins.

Kobe missed the playoffs with the same supporting cast LeBron has now

It's sad that you can't just enjoy your team being good after 6 years of garbage, but have to obsess over the Kobe and Bran nonsense.

Why aren't you calling out the pathetic Lebron stans who can't help but discredit everyone on my Lakers squad while they're pretending to be Laker fans?

Are you kidding me? AD is the defensive anchor on the league’s 2nd best defensive team and the Lakers great start is due in large part to their relentless defense. AD is as, if not more, important as Lebron.

Lakers have two legit mvp candidates on the roster :biggums:

Lebron has cleaned up Kobe decade long mess in a swift 18 months, an entire rebuild with almost zero quality assets to work with. Having to trade half the team for 7 season lottery blunder with a long resume of injuries. Management and roster so poor LA fans were picketing outside Staples Center a few months ago.

They were calling Lakers the Knicks of the West when James signed. Losing their 2019 1st round pick to Sixers stemming from Bryant begging Kupchak to trade Lakers future for Nash, eh Lebron paid off his old debts like a proud father and signed anyways. No biggie

Lakers basketball hasn't looked this good since 80's Showtime, it's cool seeing Staples Arena arupt in roars once again like it did during Shaq's 3-peat

Making big market teams look cool again

Does OP meant to say someone is carrying a big fat load and not getting the credit for it?

Yeah... reason why he was the only one dumb enough to join Bran.

Anthony Davis is their best player ATM.

Nothing other than sparkly stats e.g. Lebron's assist TOTAL really stands out. AD is at worst equal on offense but has a higher impact on defense. The Lakers ORTG and DRTG from this year to last says it all. And before anyone mentions injuries, the Lakers gutted their ENTIRE cast. For who again? Anthony Davis.
