It was almost worth it. They almost beat the GSW with him. If they did, that would be the best achievement. And if they beat them, they were gonna win the chip. Their legacies would've been different. They probably would've stayed together.

CP3 is just injury prone and it didn't work out.

Lakers traded Lou Will for Corey Brewer and a 2017 first-round pick :facepalm

Which was traded down to get Thomas Bryant and Josh Hart :facepalm

All because Lou refused to tank (https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/nba-trade-draft-rumors-lou-williams-lakers-rockets-tanking-interview/vgp8ojejudrv1xite10srmgtn)

Call it a bad fit, but Lou Williams was basically garbage for the Rockets during his short stay there. Harrell was a nobody that Doc Rivers ALMOST CUT. lol Of course the trade looks great for the clippers now, but hindsight is always 20/20.

And got Westbrook outta CP3

They almost won a title and they wouldn't with just James Harden going crazy. The rockets needed another 20ppg scorer

Lou Will, Harrell, Bev in exchange for Westbrook...although I'd prefer that 1st group over Russ, I've seen MUCH MORE lopsided trades.

It's a beautiful thing when a trade like that comes together.

It's reminiscent of the two trades Dumars pulled off in forming the '04 Pistons:

Grant Hill to Orlando for Chucky Atkins & Ben Wallace

Jerry Stackhouse to Washington for Rip Hamilton

Lou is afforded to play offense and just score. He's always been a microwave player.

Harrell playing small ball as a big fits more than 4 years ago.

Pat Bev is the same guy in Houston. A lil smarter and a better 3 point ball guy.

You can't simply look at a player who's playing well now, then look back and say it would work out. THere's a lot of variables that part-take in a player now versus in the past. Relationships with coaches and the head coach, motivation because of the current makeup of the team, etc.

If CP3 was a little younger/healthier this would have been an amazing trade both ways. Still was a good trade and they got Westbrook out of CP3 but man those are good pieces between Lou, Montrez, and Pat.

Plus Houston had Capela and Eric Gordon. They were in win now mode and those guys were better. What people forget is that Lou Williams was terrible for the Rockets and Capela played better than Montrezl and was younger. That trade was a no-brainer at the time with how good CP3 still was.

Rockets will continue to own the flippers in the playoffs.

Who cares?
