When you're down to one last possession, and the score is within two points, then the more efficient shot is the closer shot, all else being equal. That means a long two is better than a three, particularly if you get a little bit more open look.

Not really, players these days practice 3s more than they do long 2s, a three would be the better shot for most players.

So that means they make a higher percentage of threes than long twos? Becaue I thought the league average for 3s is 35-36%, but long twos is 40%.
Of course if we're talking someone like Reddick, then maybe so. But if we're also talking about the difference between a tightly contested three or a bit more open two, well ...
And if we're talking about Westbrook, it doesn't matter.
