Nick Wright EXPOSES Lebron haters

I've been pretty accurate when it comes to predicting narratives that are coming with this Lakers team. Going into the season I said the Lakers would get off to a very hot start and folks will blame the schedule.

Once they had this back to back I said, when they win you will start to hear questions about if the west is as good as it once was. And you started to hear it yesterday. Here is the next narrative that is coming, I guarantee it. "The Lakers shouldn't be trying this hard". "Are the Lakers doing themselves such a disservice by putting energy into the regular season?"

People are grasping.. running out of reasons to discredit the best team with the best player ever and a guy that is leading the case for defensive player of the year. People are going try to find different reasons and if it's not going to be the record or the schedule..it will be "Are the Lakers better off load managing and not trying to win basketball games?" Because there aren't many excuses left. Other than to say that this is the best team in basketball.

he's right about the online narratives to try to discredit the lakers but yes the lakers shouldnt be trying so hard with this roster lol.

They just dont want to face the clippers til the conference finals and have home court advantage vs the other west teams(emphasis on denver and utah). This year really could've been a chance for the other west teams to try to steal the one seed but the lakers have been great so far and they all had slow starts in some way.

I phrased it poorly, I just meant they’re technically better with AD off the court so far and much better with Bron on. Of course AD is easily a top 10 player in the league and a legitimate superstar, I was just pointing out LeBron seems to be impacting things more.

Right, but that really matters.

The number isn't meaningless...it just isn't a negative for AD...it means he's getting a lot of help...help he's never had.

Luka, for example, is +6.4 points per 100...but the team is +12.1 points per 100 without him.

Not a knock on Luka...just means he's getting insane bench help and that needs to be mentioned as this team, even just having a good bench, would have won less games even with Luka playing great.

This is one of the most overlooked aspects of regular season winning imo...it matters less in the playoffs when stars/starters play more, but having the luxury, as a star, of going to the bench and your team having a positive differential with you is huge.

I look at it a lot because it is something that frustrated me for nearly 20 years as a Mavs fan. We were great with Dirk on the floor...and pretty much just sucked without him...every single year...and it is hard to overstate just how much harder that makes life on a team over the course of a season.

Obviously the samples are still pretty small and the data isn't as reliable as it will be by the end of the season, but some trends are starting to form that will likely hold true to some degree by the end of the year for a lot of teams.
