Still?

AD has never been the best player on the Lakers.

He never was.

Of course.

Leading scorer, rebounder, and DPOY candidate.

It's not even close.

He has advanced the furthest in the playoffs in the west. Leads the team in ppg and per as well.

Did he bro?

That's crazy, AD has accomplished so much more then Bron in the postseason. When I look at the playoff scoring list and I see AD at #1, it just blows my mind. So impressive.

I think Bran is the best player on our team but AD's DPOY defense and the fact that he's leading our team is basically every stat makes him a 1b at worst. He's only slightly less impactful than Bran imo.

there are tons of reasons why we are no.1 spot right now and not some bottom feeder, but the main reason is cos of AD, He delivers both offense and defense at elite level.

AirTupac

Honestly it changes game by game which is awesome for us Laker fans. But Anthony is going to be the DPOY and he's the leading scorer. But you have to give credit to Bron as he still has shown that he's the MVP. Like i said, it depends on the game.

Based on how the team is built...

The offense would fall apart quick without LeBron.

The defense would fall apart quick without AD.

They’re essentially of equal importance. AD is better individually but LeBron might have a bigger impact on the rest of the roster.

They’re about as close to 50/50 on an elite team as we have ever seen imo.

If I absolutely had to pick one or the other for this season for this roster I’d keep LeBron.

If I absolutely had to pick one player not knowing the rest of the roster for also just for this season? I would take AD in a heartbeat.

This ties in with everything I’ve been saying for a few years now... what does the word ‘best’ even really mean on a non superficial level? The criteria and dynamics around guys vary to such an incredible degree that it’s often impossible to definitively assign the word ‘best’ or ‘better’ to a guy particularly as we start splitting hairs.

Bullshit. AD personally challenged LeBron to play good defense this year. Who else on that roster could do that successfully? Nobody.

Vogel and AD are the reasons that the team is playing so well defensively. It starts and stops at that list. Well AB as well but they’ve been winning without him.

You're both wrong.

Yea, AD is the most important defensive piece...no, it does not start and stop at AD and Vogel. Pelinka went out and handpicked the best defensive players he could with what was left after the Kawhi sweepstakes. Everybody has been playing good D.

Defensively

The best: AD, Dwight, Caruso, AB, Green, KCP

The good: Bron, Kuzma, McGee, Rondo, Dudley (when he plays)

The only players who have been bad on defense for us have been Troy and Cook, and they get the least minutes out of the rotation (if they in the rotation, Cook has been mia as of late except for garbo time).

Defense has never and will never be a one man game. If a team is playing good defense, the team gets the credit. Specifically when we playing the best defense in the league, you GOTTA spread that credit.

They fit really well. AD's ability to play defense is very KG.

Can cut off PnR's, can pick up guards, can anchor the pain and when you combine Dwight or Mcgee, they all can get 2-3 blocks a game.

Lebron's IQ on both defense and offense helps quarterback the team.

On defense? What exactly is wrong with that?

He's by far our greatest playmaker and passer, it's a wash between him and AD who is the better scorer....what is wrong with saying his defense isn't the best on the team?

I'm not even saying he's bad defensively.

Kuzma has improved sure but he's still targetted by every single team because hes still below average. Last game was a good defensive game I'll give you that. But the way he defends, he hops around. He just can't stick by his man.

Did you see the Mavs game? Their gameplan was to give the ball to whoever Kuzma was guarding and let them go to work. :oldlol:

I thought it would be different this season with rumblings from the USA camp talking about his improvements.. but he is still awful.

AD had to be carried past the first round. In that series...

Jrue: 28 ppg on 57%, 4 PRG, 6.5 apg, 1.3 spg
Mirotic: 18 ppg on 57%, 9.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.8 spg, 2.5 bpg
Rondo: 11 ppg on 49%, 7.5 rpg, 13.3 apg, 0.8 spg

Because he's leading the Lakers in almost every statistic, that might have something to do with it.

i voted for AD cos Lakers will clearly do better without Lebron than without AD. And I'm not even basing this off last year's performance.

AD is the future, Lebron knows it. AD knows it.

What are a bunch of non-millionaires debating over here?

BigTicket
12-10-2019, 04:56 AM
I would say it's very close between AD and Lebron this year, but I fully expect AD to be the best player going forward.

Lebron is having the best 17th season anyone has ever had, but father time is undefeated, so he will start declining soon, while AD is in his prime.

2020 Lakers Offensive Rating (ORtg)
On/off pts scored per 100 possessions

LBJ + AD = 117
LBJ only = 119
AD only = 110
Both on bench = 102

Wait, is this real life? Yes it is:
