But Curry is a much better pure shooter than Kobe was. On the other hand, Curry can be shut down more easily. If no Klay (and no Durant) Curry is almost invisible. When his shot is off he is not much to write home about and when the going gets tough he has a tendency to disappear.

All things considered, Kobe was a better player than Curry. First off, defense. And even on offense I'd say it's Kobe. Curry is better with good teammates... I think. But under pressure and alone... he is pretty much lost.

Players are not better than they used to be. I mean: great players are not. The average NBA player is somewhat better than 15-20 years ago. Best players today are not better. The only exception may be Doncic. He has a chance to become better than anyone ever. The rest have no chance. Not Kawhi, not Harden, not Giannis. And LeBron won't be better than he was at his peak either. Embiid and Jokic have a chance to become as good impact wise as the best centers in the 90s. Slim chance. Other than those I mentioned... nope.
