So I seen multiple times with Lebron, he dishes great assist and his teammate gets fouled and goes to FT line and score 2.Why should we not award assist in such cases?

Because you're not helping the guy make the free throw, just get to the line.

Should be it's own stat, not added to assist stat. No info for that type of "assist" in prior years. Really should start tracking how many points are scored off a player's pass too. Track made twos, made threes and free throws (both and ones and regular shooting fouls).

Incorrect potential assists include missed shots. Better at measuring passing ability than raw assists but pretty incomplete too. Obviously throwing it to a guy who makes a contested jumper is a lot less valuable than attracting a double and throwing a lob for an easy jam

Assists = help on field goals
Free throws = not a field goal :lol
