I'm on board with that idea. Been pitching it for a while now here and there. Simple change to make value of three more reasonable.

Changing the standard rim size from what it is and making all current rims in existence useless is simple? Not to mention the dozens of other inconsistencies and incompatibilities it will create.

There is nothing appealing about the idea of increasing the number of missed shots. Maybe let defenders get away with more physical play but don't just raise the number of bricks.

At the same time seeing the ball go in the basket a record high number with almost no defensive resistence because of the rules isn't entertaining either. Maybe for the casual fans but I guess that's their target anyways.

Bad idea. The size of the hoop is simply too fundamental to the game. This is as stupid as suggesting to make the ball bigger. Simply too fundamental.

There have been many changes to the court over the years, added three point line, changes to the lane, no charge circle. Then there's things like shot clock and 8 second rule. The game is constantly changing. No reason a slightly smaller rim couldn't be an added change. Guys getting too good at making long shots. Time to make it a bit harder.

I'd just:

-move the 3-point line closer
-make zone defense illegal
-add a bunch of expansion teams

Voila! 90's ball 2.0 :lol

The NBA is doing what the MLB is doing. Which is marketing their product to make more money. The MLB has done it be jacking the ball and having players hit more home-runs than ever before. The NBA is doing it by limiting what you can do on defense making the game offensive minded which is more pleasing. Chicks dig the long ball. Chicks dig the ball going in the hole more often.

Once they took hand-checking away it changed the game because players on the perimeter almost can't be touched at all anymore.

Handchecking is abundant in today's game. You need to pay more attention.
