View Full Version : Which season was Pippen first capable of 22/5/5 and 1st team defense like 05' Hughes?

I would say 1992.

So 06-08' Lebron had a better sidekick than 88-91' MJ - Lebron received a ready-made Pippen and destroyed him... :confusedshrug:

And we all know that Mo and Jamison in 09' and 10' were equal or better than young Pippen..

Even 2010 Shaq and Varejao were better than say, 89' Pippen, which means 2010 Lebron had at least 4 teammates better than 89' Pippen... No wonder he was the 1 seed and it's black mark on his career that he couldn't make the Finals those years
.

22/5/5 was an enormous outlier year for him.

Plus he could never stay healthy. His first year with bron he didn’t even play half the season.

Lebron wasted a ready-made Pippen, while MJ developed rookie Pippen into what 05' Hughes already was - a 20-point, first team defender.

you can't make this stuff up

What happened to Larry Hughes in 2005-06?

Where was he in the 07 finals?

LeBron never had 2005 Hughes.

LeBron injured Hughes and caused him to decline?

Bro, why even encourage OP. He's going to literally make another 3-4 threads on the same topic tonight, then repeat the vicious cycle every single day :lol
All it takes is 2 sentences :lol

Lebron wasted a ready-made Pippen and marginalized him into nothing, whereas MJ developed rookie Pippen into what 05' Hughes already was - a 20-point, first team defender.

Ultimately, Lebron had the East all-star center but missed the playoffs in 2005, and only made it in 2006 by adding a 20-point all-defender and the future COY - so he had a good team when he made it in 06', which is why he got a high seed..

Infact, he ONLY made the playoffs with high seeds/good teams, and failed to carry truly bad casts that were lottery the prior year to low seeds in 04', 05' and 19' (couldn't carry lottery casts to playoffs).. So the historical record shows that his carrying ability has been overrated - he couldn't carry lottery casts to the playoffs, thereby avoiding underdog matchups in the 1st round, and instead had good teams and easy matchups every time he made the playoffs.. that's the definition of a fake, manufactured goat.. but carry on..

But what actually happened to Hughes in 2005-06?

Larry Hughes declined to 15 ppg in 2006 and 2007 under LeCancer, compared to 22 ppg in 2005

Have another go. What actually happened to Larry Hughes in 2006? Think about it. I know that all you care to look at are stats sheets and have no desire to gain any other context, but even in the stats there are clues.

Are there any reasons why he might have averaged 18ppg in November but by April he was averaging only 13ppg? Might relate to him missing 46 RS games and 4 more PO games.

Let me know what you come up with.

accounting for MJ's proven stunting of Pippen, likely '89
