The Miami Heat have suspended guard Dion Waiters for a third time this season, they announced Thursday, this time for "failure to adhere to team policies, violation of team rules and continued insubordination."

If they waive him, he's still on the books for his contract amount. However, since he is suspended, they aren't paying him for games missed under suspension. So they save some money as long as he's suspended, but it isn't reflected in salary cap savings.
