View Full Version : Have you noticed draft order is a HUGE predictor of all-time ranking??

It’s almost eerie tbh.

The top 15 is basically comprised of players who either went #1, or ended up ranked right where they were drafted. Consider this:

Lebron was picked 1st overall, and he ended up as the GOAT.

Other players drafted #1 who wound up in that GOAT mix: Shaq, Duncan, Magic, Kareem etc.

Players who DIDNT go #1?

MJ: Drafted third overall, and is currently considered a consensus #3 all time guy.

Bird: Drafted sixth overall, and is CONSISTENTLY ranked in that 5-7 range.

Kobe: Drafted 13th overall... and boom! He’s locked in at that 12-14 range.

It’s honestly one of the most bizarre coincidences Ive seen in sports.

Discuss.

Very odd, how did we miss this. But the question that will really drill into your mind is: If Kobe was drafted 1st and LeBron 13th would they trade places on the all time list?
