Came in here to ask this very question.

Jerry West was so good at stealing the ball that players were instructed to never pass on fastbreaks if West was the lone man back. His wingspan and timing was impeccable.

Seems like most of the records were set in the weak 80/90's...

Glad to see ya'll can read. It's a forum, after all. Yeah, none of you make any sense - the numbers are greater - so they weren't weak at all.

This isn't even accurate. Scottie Pippen had 9 steals vs the Hawks in 94: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ7yNMjHMWw

I had forgot Micheal Ray Richardson spelled his name michEAl. Was initially shocked when ctrl-F turned up nothing. One of my fav players growing up.

Oh, and also seems like most of the records were set in the weak 80/90's...

Huh? You posted players with 9 or more steals in a game and didn't put him up. What does a record have to do with anything?

OK, so, it's the era immediately previous, and the numbers are considerably greater... it doesn't take a player or even a witness to see that they had game.

Your list is fukking garbage in general, idiot. You have Clyde Drexler with 10 steals in an opening game, yet when you post players with 9+ steals career he isn't there. You are a fukking retard.

I notice that a lot of these records are from the late 80s and early 90s. Steals stats from that era are inflated. Especially from members of the '92 Clippers and Lakers. Imagine Prime Bron vs those Korean shop keepers. He woulda convicted those cops AND STILL cleaned house

You didn't take his advice to learn to read, the category you think these two should go in has 4 and 3 times having 9+ steals as the leaders. 1 game of 9+ is not more than 3.
