Can we give my boy some love? This past off season, people were brushing aside Rondo as if he were a scrub. There were people actually arguing that he did not deserve to be on an NBA team, and thought he would be a bad fit on the Lakers.

Fast forward to today...Rondo in 22 minutes off the bench (16 games) is averaging 8ppg, 6apg, 4rpg, and 1 steal shooting 43.8% from the three point line and 70.6% from the free throw line. Playing good defense as well (not Caruso level, but hey can't complain at all). He's doing exactly what is expected of him. Make plays, run the ball, hit a three, make your free throws.

True vet, not complaining about his role (shout out to Dwight for instilling that mindset into this team), and proving to be a key piece of this team. He plays WONDERFULLY with AD and Dwight.

It's honestly just the Bran stans. True ball fans remember Rondo single handedly carving up the Celtics defense when he was on the Bulls in the playoffs and carrying them to the dubs and as soon as he goes down they proceed to lose the next 4.

Rondo is one of the smartest and most impactful playmakers in the league still.

Playoffs Rondo is still a thing. Expect him to level up in April and beyond.

Amazing how cyclical it is. Rondo did it for the bulls and then he did it for the pelicans and each time the media and forum boards suddenly realise that playoff Rondo isn't a meme. I can't wait to see him carve it up in the playoffs this year.

Crazy that he is shooting above 40% from 3 and has a 10% higher ft% than bron given his early career, although a pre-season vid before last years season showed him draining tens of threes in a row, his shooting has improved dramatically.

Even last year his three point shooting wasn't bad, he was shooting like 37% from three.

If Kobe had Rondo/AD/Demarcus, magazines would be taking pictures of them + Dwight calling them a superteam but as usual the media downplays LeFarce's cast to control the narrative.

I never thought he was washed up or a bad player but I was one of those people who said rondo would be a bad fit. I was hoping cook and Daniels would be key spot up shooters and produce off the bench. But I did not expect rondo to shoot so well from 3 this year. I hope it’s not an early season fluke because he’s earned his rotation minutes

This. Outside of his stint in Dallas, he's always done his thing when needed most.

Playoff Rondo is the only Playoff ____ that didn't end up a meme. His other big competitor, Playoff P, had a couple really bad playoffs with OKC.

Playoff Rondo was a thing 10years ago. Carried a battered Celtics team for a few games. That is it. Just living off myths now

Literally the last time he was in the playoffs in 2018. :oldlol:

11/8/13 on 49/43/80 splits against Portland while outplaying Lillard, and had 21 dimes against the Warriors in the only game they won.

12/10/9 against the Celtics the year before with 4 steals a game

they were up 2-0 both wins on the road and about to have a massive upset over the #1 seed Celtics as the 8 seed

it was also the first time in NBA history in a best of 7 where an 8 seed went up 2-0 against a 1st

then Celtics won 4 straight after Rondo was out with injury and we were robbed of a historic upset

Yeah, he didn't play well against the most stacked team of the decade. Shocking.

You will be eating your words in the playoffs.

Will be fascinating to see the extent of Rondo's role on the Lakers come 2020 playoff time.

As for his career in general, need to ponder the highs and lows. Obviously the highs were pretty great.

Rondo is great at slowing the pace of the game. In the Playoffs every posession counts and Rondo is at his best when that time comes.

if by slowing the pace you mean pounding the rock for 20 seconds and then throwing a shitty pass for a bailout shot then yeah he's really great at that and the opposing teams will surely be thankful for his performance
