So many top 10-20 ATG players. How does this stack up to what MJ beat?

2012: Arguably the greatest scorer in NBA history along with 2 other MVPs.
https://i.ibb.co/8BxNRJf/ish3.png

2013: Spurs dynasty. One of the greatest two-way players ever, along with the greatest power foward ever
https://i.ibb.co/PxNwbLz/ish1.png

2016: GOAT shooter, along with another top 3 shooter in nba history. Along with an all-time great defender

Imagine doing one for MJ

91, beat a guy with AIDS while MJ's #2 option (Pippen) outscored oppositions #1 option AND Pippen anchored defense

92, beat the worst Finals team in NBA history while MJ's #2 option (Pippen) outscored oppositions #2 option AND Pippen anchored defense

93, beat MVP Chuck who is a career loser (1 good ring I guess)

96, beat 6'2 guy and MJ had lower GmSc than Shawn fuxxing Kemp (lol) while MJ's #2 option (Pippen) anchored defense

97, beat #8 lowest #2 option in Finals history (Stockton, 13.8 ppg) while MJ's #2 option (Pippen) outscored oppositions #1 option AND Pippen anchored defense

98, beat literal #1 lowest #2 option in Finals history (Hornacek, 10m7 ppg) while MJ's #2 option (Pippen) outscored oppositions #1 option AND Pippen anchored defense

his Finals win frequency (1/3) is in line with the underdog odds he shamefully had to win those Finals, so he did nothing to exceed expectation

otoh, mj won all 6 Finals, which is above the 2-1 favorite status he earned going into those Finals (he was expected to win 4 and lose 2), and therefore above expectation by 2 rings.. He won 2 rings above expectation.. 538 details these facts in their blog

(btw, we all know that Lebron faced talent deficits in only 4 Finals, and therefore had the supporting talent needed to win 5, but was thwarted by insufficient teamwork)

2012
posted career best drtg 99 throughout playoffs and nba record 30-10-5 on 50% for entire playoffs only been done 1 time in nba history (NOT by mike)

2013
biggest game 7 in Finals history. dropped 37 on 56% with allen and bosh scoring 0

2016
https://i.postimg.cc/xdmq0qs2/20190531-142817.jpg

this was the ony way to beat them, think about it

kd poured 30 and westbrook did goat #2 optoin all time with 27/11/7/4 but they still lost

it would take something we never seen to beat them and he did it. lead all in all.

Legendary? A team full of puppies, a team full of senior citizens and a team that only has one asterisk chip. I would hardly call any of those teams legendary. Theyre all very good teams though.

what was the best finals win for mike :oldlol:

1998 was his best, since his 2nd three-peat set the record for the modern era/3-pointer basketball (shaq only got 1 three-peat and Kobe/KD/Lebron got none).. it also set the record for rings in the modern era and doubled up everyone in rings as the team's best player (6 to 3).

1993 was his 2nd-best ring because his 1st three-peat is what put him past Bird/Magic in the "best achievement" category, thus making him the modern era goat.

1991 was his 3rd-best ring because he beat the at-the-time goat and runner-up for MVP, while being his primary defender - this was an equal feather in the cap that Bird got by beating Magic.

keep in mind he was defensive stopper for 0 rings as well :oldlol:

MJ guarded Magic for 14 of 20 quarters in the 91' Finals (70%), to Pippen's 6 of 20 quarters (30%) - this is backed up by rea.l gm here (https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=1261129)

MJ was also the primary defender on Drexler, Payton (game 3 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=meL62CUehuw) and 5 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IFiqeJcgXfg)), Isiah Thomas (all (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U9MfhFFE7fc) the time (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q53GLDrhMkY)), Reggie Miller, and Rod Strickland (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n3JqY3CECW8)

The only time Pippen was the primary defender on the opponent's best perimeter player in the playoffs was the 96' ECF, where Penny outplayed him (25 ppg).. :facepalm

^^^ So there's the proof that MJ was the primary defender on the opponent's best perimeter player

now what examples do you have of pippen being the primary defender that outnumber what was proven for MJ above?.. :biggums:

https://i.postimg.cc/YqTvqcxK/net-efficiency.png
the 90's West was a bloodbath... I wouldn't expect any team from that era to make it - too much parity - there were a zillion "big 2's" back then and more competitive... whereas the warriors, spurs, and lebron's teams enjoyed the only lasting big 3's of the era, hence the higher net rating (except Bron's teams

which brings up the main point - the list is made up of entirely of historic teams and dominant dynasties - so Duncan and Curry's big 3's made the list but lebron's big 3's didn't (despite a weaker conference)... so instead of a battle of 2 titans like the 80's Lakers and Celtics, it was always David and Goliath with Lebron's Finals - the mighty Spurs/Warriors against Lebron's perennial underdogs

facing great teams doesn't prevent you from having a great team yourself that can compete evenly, but Lebron's teams are 2/6 vs spurs/mavs/warriors, including 2 sweeps, 2 record defeats, and the goat choke - so basically, the worst anyone could do

easily as ball players, but not accolade-wise because MJ stopped them from winning the high-level awards, just like he would Curry..

Curry is that exact kind of fringe championship-level performer/team that MJ destroyed - he only has 1 ring in 2015 without KD, and that one is tainted by Kyrie's injury.. he infact isn't championship-caliber..

curry wouldn't even have continued playing ball early-on if it weren't for the 3-point line

february 16, 2013:

Michael Jordan Breaks Down Blueprint for Defending LeBron James

The announcers gush about LeBron, mentioning him in the same sentence with Jordan, who hears every word. Those words have an effect on him. He stares at the TV and points out a flaw in LeBron's game.

"I study him," he says.

When LeBron goes right, he usually drives; when he goes left, he usually shoots a jumper. It has to do with his mechanics and how he loads the ball for release. "So if I have to guard him," Jordan says, "I'm gonna push him left so nine times out of 10, he's gonna shoot a jump shot. If he goes right, he's going to the hole and I can't stop him. So I ain't letting him go right."

For the rest of the game, when LeBron gets the ball and starts his move, Jordan will call out some variation of "drive" or "shoot."
