View Full Version : How come the Minnesota Timberwolves is not playing any better?

Wiggins seems to be glowing up a bit, KAT is great, Jeff Teague is good imo. and Robert Covington is a player everyone wants on their team.
They seem to be pretty bad with a 10-18 record. I'm not saying they should be in the playoff, but when OKC got a positive record I'm surprised they are not doing better.

They got off to a very good start but it appears they are regressing back down to what they have always been. It's a shame but neither KAT nor Wiggins are that franchise player leader dog type.

They don't really have a bench from what I can tell.
And while Wiggins is playing much better, it isn't like he's good enough to really move the needle on winning on a limited team.
But it has been great to see Wiggins try hard, attack the rim, work on defense...etc. He's clearly playing at a better level than he has.
But this team needs some players that can not get torched when Wiggins/KAT are off the court.

Their team is literal trash other than Wiggins, KAT, Covington, and Layman. Teague is the most average PG in the league, and Okogie isn't there yet.

I wonder if they'd trade KAT to the Pelicans for Ball, Ingraham and Reddick plus three 1st rounders.

So who's this trade bad for? BI is decent but they don't need him with Jrue and when Zion comes back.

So who's this trade bad for? BI is decent but they don't need him with Jrue and when Zion comes back.KAT is averaging 27/12 on incredible efficiency, not even 25 yet. It's bad for both teams because having Wiggins makes getting BI irrelevant, Pelicans would also be giving up way too many picks. A more realistic move would be trading Jrue at the deadline for more assets.

Nah, Ingram is about to get paid...and if you trade KAT to the Pels with Zion...they are going to be in the playoffs every year...so those picks aren't even good.
KAT gets way too under-rated here imo, he just turned 24.
Wolves just have to find a way to get some stuff around him that makes sense.
If I was the Wolves, I'd just start over and see what I could get for Wiggins and Covington and Teague.
Keep KAT/Josh/Jake/Jarret...and just see if you can build from there.

Because KAT is a soft empty stats type of player.

I bet if he played with Lebron he wouldn't be so empty.
Funny how that works.

Warriors might be interested in a DLO for Covington/Dieng/Pick type thing...I just don't like that for the Wolves, but might be worth taking a risk if you could also move Wiggins.
Someone will take on Wiggins after this year...he's been a lot better and the contract will have one less year on it.

Someone will take on Wiggins after this year...he's been a lot better and the contract will have one less year on it.I think it might help KAT focus more on defense since he'll have another scorer to help him out. KAT/Russell/Wiggins is definitely not a bad core moving forward, it'll just be hard to improve since they're all maxed out. I think Warriors would ask for Okogie instead of Dieng if they went for it, they really want some forwards who can play in their system.
It's really hard to say, i've heard OKC trade ideas but I don't think Presti wants to mess with him. Raptors would be an idea but Minny would want a pick back and Anunoby, so they're probably not gonna entertain it.
