A company rep FedEx'd me 2 live Maine Lobsters that were 2 1/2 - 3 pounds each. First time ever making them at home.
Then it was literally .... :hammertime:
Holy Christ did they taste good.

Nice. How did you cook them?
Lobster tails are my absolute favorite seafood. I can eat them 24-7.

I spend time in Maine every summer and always use my grandmother's recipe:
Put about an inch of seawater in the pot, bring to a boil, throw the lobsters in and cover with seaweed. Put the lid on the pot and lobsters are done in about 18 minutes.

What's funny is that there was some seaweed in with the packaging but never thought to throw it in the pot. Wasn't that much.... not sure if it would have made a difference in taste.
No seawater around here and obviously no seasalt in the pantry, but still tasted good as hell!!

Nice. What part of Maine? My family has a summer house on an island in Casco Bay. We go by boat to buy lobsters from a wholesaler. I always buy twice as many as we need for dinner, cook them all and put the extras in the fridge in order to make lobster rolls the next day.

I like to crush their skull before cooking. Crayfish, lobster, cows, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-X4QSgbfpE

Good thing they shipped them live. Only takes a few hours after they die for the bacteria to start forming and it can

I take a sharp knife and stab them in the brain walking dead style just before putting them in the pot.

Have to admit it did feel kinda of weird seeing them alive, dropping it in the steam bath, pull it out, bust it up and eating it, in about a 30min span.
Maybe that's just the pu$$y part of me coming out :oldlol:

Grilled lobster > Boil/steam
I've done them that way, split in half and onto the grill. I found that it dried the meat out though. Still tasty but I prefer steamed.

So you didn't bother to kill them first?
You sick fukk, may karma have its way with you in the form of a black bear mauling your guts out while you're still conscious.

So many great restaurants in Portland for such a small town. On a clear day we can see the old harbor from our island.
